Winslow U15 Lions took two teams to the Aylesbury United Juniors Festival of Football on Sunday.

The ‘yellows’ put in some good performances, but a win and two draws in their group wasn’t enough to see them through against some strong sides. They can still be proud of their respectable 4th place finish in their group.

The ‘blues’ managed 3 wins and 2 draws to finish second place in their group.

A competitive semi final against Aylesbury finished 0-0.

On to penalties which Winslow won 3-2.

A close game in the final which was narrowly lost by just one goal. The boys fought hard all day, and with no substitutes to call on they can be very proud of their achievement to finish runners up in the U15 Colts tournament.

Well done to the whole squad for a successful season!

🏆 Tournament Round-Up – Winslow United Juniors U7 Lions 🦁

What an amazing start to our first ever tournament experiences!

We entered three tournaments across different areas and today saw the final one at Northampton. I couldn’t be prouder of every single player in this team.

Across our tournaments, we have achieved:
🥇 1st place
🥈 2nd place
🥉 3rd place

Today, we competed in a very high-standard, competitive tournament and unfortunately went out in the semi-finals — but the boys gave everything and should hold their heads high.

The progress, teamwork, attitude and commitment from this group has been incredible. At the start of the season, I never imagined we would achieve so much in just one season.

Well done boys — you have made yourselves, your families and everyone at Winslow United Juniors Lions extremely proud. 🦁💙

Now we are fully up and running we are delighted to introduce the two local charities we will be supporting.

Medical Detection Dogs, based in Great Horwood, are pioneers in harnessing dogs’ sense of smell to detect diseases or become assistance dogs for people with a wide range of illnesses. Check out their work here https://www.medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk

Treehouse pre-school are a Winslow pre school who work tirelessly to provide children with a nurturing safe space where they can prepare for school. See what they do at www.treehousepre-school.co.uk

Part of the reason we chose for kits was so we could offer you a one stop shop for all your Winslow merchandise, training kit and accessories and we are delighted to say it is now open for business!

It really couldn’t be easier. Head to winslow-united-jfc.pendlesportswear.co.uk and select the ‘parents and players’ yellow button to the right of the badge. You’ll have the option of all training wear and accessories, just choose your item, personalise it and pay and it’ll be on the way to you before you know it!

Not all items can be personalised but it will be clear which can and which can’t when you shop. You will need to set up an account in the same way you would with any other shop.

Size guides are available for each item, be aware that all personalised kit can’t be returned or exchanged so make sure you get those initials right.

The season may be over but that means tournament season is upon us!

Many of our teams have been competing and enjoying football over the weekend in various tournaments.

Big wins yesterday for our U15 Lions at Wingrave and today our U7 Lions and U11 Lions were winners at the Buckingham Youth tournament! 🏆
