Today saw the last competition from our finals week competed for, namely The Smiths Pairs Trophy. Club members enjoyed a great day of bowls, with much fun and laughter throughout with Rob Morris and Callum Turner emerging as worthy winners.

Club president Eric Noble presented the trophy to applause from everyone present.

In closing, Club Secretary Rob Storey added his congratulations to the winners and thanked all volunteers who had made the day possible, and members present for their tremendous support to him and Assistant Secretary Sue Rush this year explaining we've enjoyed a good season and wishing all well till we meet again shortly at the official trophies presentation evening.

Today saw the last of this year's club trophy finals, the 4 Bowl Handicap played between Rob Storey and Geoff Dunkley.
The match saw Geoff slowly claw back Rob's points advantage to reach 15 each, before Rob managed to get over the winning line first.

Well done to both players on an enthralling match to round off the Club Finals Week. Pictured below is Geoff congratulating Rob with Club President Eric Noble about to hand over the trophy.

The second last of the club 2026 championship finals was played today. In a marathon match Rob Storey just edged out Kev Nixon through rain, wind and the odd sunny spell.

Congratulations Rob, and commiserations on a great effort Kev. Thanks also to Mark McGuckin for marking and Club President Eric Noble for presenting the trophy to Rob.

Congratulations to Mark McGuckin on winning our Veterans 4 Bowl Final this afternoon, in his first season too.
Well done also to Peter Jackson who had a great run on the way to the final.
Well done both, and to all the players who entered the competition.

Today saw Geoff Dunkley come out on top against Rob Morris in our club 2 Bowl Trophy Championship Final.
Well done both players on some cracking bowling played in a great spirit.

We just want to say a huge thank you to all of you out there who have read and supported our posts . The traffic to our page and website has grown beyond our expectations. As our bowling season winds down over the next two weeks there will be plenty still going on with our warmspaces and other initiatives and workshops planned throughout the winter. Our interaction with our local communities is key to our growth and viabilty going forward so why not follow our page and ensure you do not miss anything that may be of interest.

Well its good to know our club appeal stratches far and wide, just had an amazing email from a gentleman in Seattle in the good ol US of A.
This is from a gentleman who came to visit us from a bowling club in Seattle. He spent a short time in Bill Quay.
We gathered some photos to send to him.
We hope it might be a possibly lead to a twinning of the bowling clubs.

Thank you so much for the pictures, and you most certainly may post the photos of us to your page.

I haven’t seen inside the school in Bill Quay since 1976 but some of the photos had a familiar feeling to them. (It may be that I spent more time looking at the ceiling and out the windows than at my lessons, so the architecture was etched in my brain.)

I have cc’d Mark, and he or I will hopefully send some pictures from our humble club here in Seattle, WA.
