Years from now, they probably won’t remember every result.

They’ll remember the journey, the lessons, the people and the moments shared together.

At Kensho, we don’t just teach karate. We help build confidence, character, and connections that can last a lifetime.

This is what being part of a team looks like.

Join the journey. 🥋❤️

Most people see karate and think of punches, kicks, and medals.

What they don’t see are the friendships, the confidence, the shared experiences, and the memories that last a lifetime.

From your first lesson to travelling the world with your teammates, Kensho is about becoming part of something bigger than yourself.

These moments are what it’s all about. ❤️

Ready to start your journey?

Always remember, “There is no failure, only learning”

Today, we honor Phil Mordey, a pillar of Kensho Dojo, as he steps into retirement.

Phil’s dedication, love for the dojo, and the friendships he’s built are woven into every corner of our practice.

Phil, you’ve been an inspiration, a mentor, and a true friend. We are forever grateful, and we hope you’ll still join us on the mat whenever you can.

Thank you, Phil, for everything, you will always have a home, at Kensho Dojo. Glad to hear your saving on shampoo too 😉🤭

And Welcome to the “KENSHO DOJO HALL OF FAME”

Some success stories are measured in medals. Others are measured in growth. Alex has been fortunate enough to achieve both.

Over the years, Alex has developed not only as a karateka, but as a person. Through dedication, consistency, and a willingness to challenge himself, he has transformed his approach to training, fitness, and wellbeing. The confidence he has built extends far beyond the dojo, influencing every aspect of his life.

His journey is a reminder that karate isn’t just about what you achieve on the tatami. It’s about the person you become along the way.

We’re incredibly proud of everything Alex has accomplished and excited to see where his journey takes him next.

We’re back with another Technique Tuesday.

This week we’re using resistance bands again to develop stronger stances, better body connection, and greater stability in kata. Sometimes the biggest improvements come from strengthening the foundations.

A fantastic day at the Scottish Open for Team SEKA. 🥋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who stepped onto the tatami. Medals are always a bonus, but the courage, determination, and sportsmanship shown throughout the day are what matter most.

Congratulations to all of our competitors on their achievements, and thank you to the coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters who made the event possible.

On to the next one. 👊

We’re back with Technique Tuesday! 🥋

This week we’re working on pocket range drills, developing distance control, reactions, and composure under pressure. Sometimes the smallest movements make the biggest difference.

What do you focus on when training at close range?
