This Saturday we have a top of the table clash. Swalwell Cricket Club 1st XI currently sit in 2nd place and host table topping Morpeth Cricket Club with wickets pitched at 12.30pm. Can our lads take the Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League title race to the last weekend of the season?
The bar will be open from 12pm with Toasties and an excellent selection of beverages available and they'd welcome your support. 🍺🏏
Meanwhile our 2nd XI make the trip North to face Bomarsund Welfare Cricket Club 1st XI with wickets again pitched at 12.30pm.

This Saturday Swalwell Cricket Club 2nd XI host Greenside Cricket Club 1st XI with wickets pitched at 12.30pm.
The bar will be open from 12pm with Toasties and an excellent selection of beverages available 🍺🏏
Meanwhile our 1st XI make the short trip along the Tyne Valley to face Ryton Cricket Club, with wickets again pitched at 12.30pm.

This week's featured Sponsor is the Royal Mail, who believed in our vision of bringing Hardball Junior cricket back to Derwenthaugh Park, through shirt sponsorship for our young players. This backing of our young players and their committed Coaching Team over the last 2 years, have been invaluable. Great to see some of our Junior section at Swalwell Cricket Club having a practice match last night.
It’s great game time before they embark on their U9, U11 and U13 fixtures next season.

Swalwell Cricket Club Ladies have been in action again this week, with a trip to face Ryton Cricket Club Ladies. Team Coach and 'roving reporter' Peter Scött updates us once again on continuing good progress for our newest side.....

Our ladies took a trip to Ryton on Monday evening for a friendly match.
As usual, they turned up with their A game and posted a healthy 96-1. Ryton Ravens put the pressure on but were pinned back to finish with 91-4.
A cracking victory again, with our ladies developing and improving week on week.

Well done ladies.

This Saturday Swalwell Cricket Club 1st XI entertain Ponteland Cricket Club for a match commencing at the earlier time of 12.30pm. The bar will be open from 12pm, with Toasties and an excellent selection of beverages available🍺🏏
Our 2nd XI make the trip across the Tyne to face Seaton Burn Cricket Club 1st XI, with wickets again pitched at 12.30pm.

So a busy day of updates covering the weekend and our fixtures and now we can finally focus on THE key weekend event for Swalwell Cricket Club. The best part is that Team Coach Peter Scött (who appears to have turned Scandinavian or German with his 'two dots') has already provided a write-up, so over to you, Maestro......

Our women’s softball team ventured to The Riverside today to compete in Megafest.
This year we entered two teams, one in the Megafest Plate and one in the Megafest Cup. Our team competing for the Plate, battled hard and finished 3rd with some very strong performances from an inexperienced team.
Our team going for glory in the Cup fought hard, gave dominant performances but were just pipped in the last over to be beaten by a tremendous Marsden side in the final.
Overall an exceptional day of cricket by an exceptional group of ladies.
Well done to you all, we’re all immensely proud of what you’ve achieved.
