Welcome to SwimActive - welcome to the the amazing world of Aquatics with teachers, Ian Kirk, Leah Kirk & Cath Richmond. To be able to travel through water in complete ease & relaxation and with grace is a feeling of complete freedom with your body suspended in the water! But first you need to be able to swim and to understand how to be safe in the water and also what to do if you do get into diff
iculties. So to children and adults (of any age) alike – we invite you to have a fun journey learning to relax in the water , to ‘breathe out’ in the water and feel what it is like to move through it in a streamlined and efficient way. Once learnt, you will never forget these amazing life skills – they will stay with you for the rest of your life. Our 30 minute small group classes allow each swimmer to get the most out of their lesson and our select team of swim instructors ( Ian & Leah Kirk, Cath Ricmond, Ceri Smith, Jess Critchely, Pat Cass, Sophie Livingstone and Maddie Smith ) all share a passion for teaching with bags of enthusiasm. We are also different to many swim schools in that our teachers are in the water with you, to encourage and support you, whilst you gain confidence and learn to swim. Our classes follow the ASA (Amatuer Swimming Association) National Teaching plan which develops water skills, water confidence and stroke development. Your ability is assessed on a regular basis as you go along your swimming journey and when the required standard is achieved, you are awarded a nationally recognized award. We offer both group and 1 – 2 -1 lessons to both children and adults, which includes stroke improvement classes for those of you who wish to spend more time in the water keeping fit, or who are taking part in the ever growing ‘open water’ events that are now available.
