Scottish Keelboat Academy The Scottish Keelboat Academy provides coaching, mentoring and access to keelboat racing resources for 16 - 24 year olds.

The Scottish Keelboat Academy is aimed at 16-24 year old, experienced dinghy sailors who want to make the transition into keelboats or existing keelboat sailors who want to further their sailing experience and enhance their skills. As well as providing an avenue for talent spotting sailors for the British Keelboat Academy, the academy will also assist in giving sailiors oppertuninites to sail on privately owned keelboats in Scotland. Squad training will take place at Port Edgar Sailing School through the winter months, delivered in their fleet of Hunter 707's.There is one intake per year, applications will be available from the RYA Scotland website from mid July with a selection weekend in late September. Take a look at some of this year's sailors in action on what was a very productive weekend. The weekend saw one day of nice winds and one day of pontoon dry drills which proved to be very useful. The level of interest from the sailors is high and the level of questions they are asking are excellent going to be a good training season.

With squad members being involved heavily throughout the fleet we are excited to see the progression through the season ...

With squad members being involved heavily throughout the fleet we are excited to see the progression through the season of Joe Penhaul Smith on Animal & JoJo Barrie & Alexandra Brown on No worries.

A mention also to other squad members Jamie Spratt & Maria Anna with their sonata sailing. As well as Murray MacDonald who had a difficult weekend with Autism on the Water but we have confidence he will persevere.
