Event number 1 completed with Earlston Tennis Club hosting what ended up a lovely day of tennis for the regional clubs young players. The weather held up and a good time was had by all. A superbly ran club event with fun and play at the heart of the activity. Big thanks to Andrew Milligan and his team of coaches and helpers at ETC who created a warm and welcoming atmosphere which for some was essential as it was there first venture into tennis competition.
There were 4 clubs represented with 5 teams of 4 players .Congratulations to all who took part and to eventual winners St Boswells 1 who played superbly well. All of the young players demonstrated great skill , fairness and respect over the entire event.

- St Boswells 1 won with 157
- Earlston/Selkirk 2nd with 120
- St Boswells 2 3rd with 116
- Innerleithen 4th with 104
- St Boswells 3 5th with 88
Next event is on the 28th and entries are now open with details available on the attached flier. These events are the fun , engaging and safe place for players to begin their journey in tennis.
Our goal at Tennis Borders is to try and bring more players and clubs back into the district fold as, recent times has seen the sport decline in some areas. Tennis is a sport for all ages and abilities and it’s not a sport we see covered that much in schools. If you are part of a local club , school or simply have kids who wish to get involved . Let us know here and we will make every effort to ensure they are included.
Huge thanks to the parents for supporting the event with some even getting involved which again is a massive help when running events of this nature .
