Above are some of the many benefits of training within boxing.

- Betters the health of your heart - this is down to boxing being a heavily cardio based sport. Primarily training at a high heart rate which in turn will strengthen the health of your cardiovascular system.
- Builds mental strength - there are a lot ways boxing strengthens the mind which include helping you fight stress, discover a new side of yourself, gain confidence, overcome anger, showing resilience and boost your self-esteem.
- Higher quality of sleep - due to the high work rate necessary to complete boxing sessions and training your body is significantly more tired than it normally would be so it should make for an easier nights sleep and help keep your routine good.
- Weight loss/management - boxing aids weight loss or management through the system of its training. Workouts are usually required to activate multiple if not all muscle groups this then generates more calories burned. You can lose anywhere between 300-600 calories if not more within an hour of training depending on the intensity.

Hi everybody, I’m excited to announce I’m going to be starting taking on clients for personal training in boxing and general conditioning.

This is as a result of me reducing my hours at my job to pursue boxing and build on what I have already achieved in the sport, most recently winning the Elite 75kg title of the Celtic Box Cup in Ireland last September. In doing this, it obviously frees up more time for me to train myself and to also pass my knowledge on to anybody else that would be interested. I will be holding these sessions at Galashiels Boxing Club as they have kindly offered to facilitate it for me on a 1-1 or small group basis. I am a registered level 1 coach with Boxing Scotland and have completed numerous courses to further educate me within the coaching aspect of things. Whether you’re looking to achieve simple fitness goals, lose a bit of weight or learn how to box competitively I’m certain I can help you succeed.
