The Friday early evening junior sail had five youngsters signed up for the session. Unfortunately, only three arrived (Elodie, Ruairidh and Alex), but they were keen to get out in the challenging conditions. The forecast was for a fresh breeze blowing straight into the harbour so we decided to reef the three RS Zests - Morven would sail with Elodie. After 15 minutes the wind died completely, so we took all of the reefs out of the sails, which just allowed the dinghies to move. 10 minutes later the wind returned and remained a perfect breeze for the rest of the session. Both Alex and Ruairidh showed great progression during their session.

Lovely day to be on the water even if the sailing wasn’t great due to pretty still conditions. Cameron, Jean, Sarah, Zoe, Steve and Laura went out today. Thanks to Leah and Leah’s mum for safety cover. Clare on safety too (but I can’t thank myself!)

The sailing was cancelled on Sunday due to strong winds and gusty conditions. However, the challenging conditions, especially on Sunday, didn’t stop our three powerboat students from gaining their RYA PBL2 certificates. Well done to Clare, Michael and Nigel. Many thanks to Ric for running the course.

Congratulations to Bruce, Iona and Isla on gaining their RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling certificate last weekend.

Going by everyone’s excitement, the highlight of the course came on Sunday afternoon when they were joined by a pod of dolphins.
