Sadly we have decided that this is the last operating season for SailBadachro and we will close at the end of October. Thank you to all who have sailed with us and to the Skippers who have worked with us. We will miss introducing others to sailing through our RYA courses and sharing our boat and love of the West Coast of Scotland through our Skippered Charter trips. We are now looking forward to pursuing some of our sailing and travel goals on La Girafe, hopefully we will see some of you out on the water.

Boat launched last Tuesday in Ardrossan now out on a skippered charter round the Clyde, great sail up the East Kyle of Bute and a night in Caladh Harbour. Yesterday a brisk sail (gusts of 38 kts) round to Otter Ferry for lunch then an evening in Tarbert. Today heading for Lamlash and then back to Ardrossan Wednesday. We will be back out on Saturday with a Coastal Yachtmaster course with exam on the last day.

0400 hours. Climbers ashore in Loch Na Cluice (Scavaig, Skye). They are doing the Cuillin Ridge in 16 hours. I’m off with La Girafe to do the 57 mile passage to pick them up in Loch Slighan at the other end. All in a days work here at SailBadachro. Hope to see happy customers at the other end.

La Girafe now ready for the water, she is due to be launched by the yard staff Marina today. We are still unable to offer our RYA courses or Skippered Charter programme but it will be nice to get her out for a sail ourselves.

Fantastic full moon over the past few nights. Here contemplating life with faithful friends looking out towards the Outer Hebrides across the Minch. What a perfect night, stood there thinking about how good it would be out on the water. Realised that it’s easy wish your life away and miss the moment. There will be plenty of good times on the water when this is over!
