WEEK 4 HYROX TRAINING ✅

Another solid week in the bank and it feels like we’re starting to move beyond simply learning the exercises and into the finer details.

This week has been much more about technique, efficiency and pacing working out how hard we can push each station without paying for it later in the race.

We’re also starting to get a better idea of our pacing for each exercise, which will eventually help us build a realistic overall finish-time target. Still plenty of learning and improving to do, but it’s nice to feel things starting to come together.

And it’s getting very real now…

🏨 Hotel booked
🚆 Train tickets booked
🇬🇧 London is happening!

Next on the list is looking properly at fuelling and hydration what we eat and drink before and during race day and continuing to get some evening sessions in to replicate the later HYROX start time.

Four weeks in and still really enjoying the process. Training with definitely makes the tough sessions easier to turn up for too!

Week 4 down ✅
11 weeks to go.

🇬🇧 London HYROX 2nd December

And we’re continuing to raise money and awareness for Impact Mental Health 💚

WEEK 3 HYROX TRAINING ✅

Three weeks in and I feel like my body is finally starting to understand what I’m asking it to do 😂

The exercises are starting to feel a little more familiar, technique is improving and I’m definitely beginning to feel more comfortable with the demands of HYROX.

The sessions are still challenging, but that’s what I’m enjoying about them. They’re tough, structured and actually really good fun.

The biggest positive this week was that we both said the same thing…

We can already tell we’re getting fitter. 💪

There’s obviously a long way to go, but noticing those little improvements after only three weeks is a great feeling and gives us even more motivation to keep pushing.

The legs are certainly getting plenty of work too sandbag lunges are becoming a very regular feature of life! 😂

Next up: Week 4… and I’m very much looking forward to getting a massage thrown into the recovery plan!

Week 3 down ✅
12 weeks to go.

🇬🇧 London HYROX - 2nd December

We’re also doing all of this to raise money and awareness for Impact Mental Health. Mental health is a huge part of why we wanted to give this challenge a bit more meaning highlighting the positive impact that exercise, having a goal, accountability and simply having someone alongside you can have.

WEEK 2 HYROX TRAINING ✅

Another week down and I’m quickly realising these HYROX sessions don’t get any easier 😂

The sessions have been tough, but I’m really enjoying the process of learning something new and tweaking the technique as we go.

Wall Balls are still very much a work in progress 😅 but some really useful tips from Laura and Joanna this week have already helped. Small changes to technique and efficiency should hopefully make a big difference when fatigue kicks in.

One thing I’ve definitely learnt…

Snap needs some extra air con in that cardio area! 🥵😂

I’m also really enjoying the balance at the minute. I get to work and live at The FitNest, then head over to Snap to train and play with all the HYROX equipment.

It genuinely feels a little bit like I’m going on holiday every time I go 😂

Training with my HYROX partner continues to add that extra bit of accountability too. We’re both turning up, getting the sessions done and figuring it all out together.

Still plenty to improve, but that’s the whole point.

Week 2 down ✅
13 weeks to go.

WEEK 1 HYROX TRAINING ✅ BASELINES ESTABLISHED 💚

First proper week of HYROX training done… and it’s safe to say I’ve got a lot to learn! 😂

HYROX is completely new to me, so at the moment it’s all about learning the movements, improving technique and figuring out how to be more efficient when the fatigue starts kicking in.

There’s plenty of work to do. Technique will improve. Efficiency will improve. Stamina will improve. But that’s exactly why I wanted to take this on. I’m really enjoying having something completely different to train towards.

A few early observations…

Wall Balls - what a crazy exercise. They look innocent enough until you actually start doing them repeatedly 😅

Lunges - nothing quite prepares you for how ridiculously heavy they make your legs feel.

And having the accountability of training with my HYROX partner is already making a massive difference. When someone else is relying on you to turn up and put the work in, there’s nowhere to hide.

We’re learning as we go, putting the work in and hopefully getting a little bit better every week.

Week 1 down ✅
14 more to go.

🇬🇧 London HYROX - 2nd December

And most importantly, I’ll be using this challenge to raise money and awareness for Impact Mental Health - giving the whole journey a purpose beyond just crossing the finish line.

Loads of kg’s have been lifted in The FitNest recently… 💪🏼

But it’s not just about the weights.

There’s been plenty of what I call green energy going around. People coming in feeling good, pushing themselves, having a laugh and leaving feeling better than when they walked through the door.

There’s also been sessions where we’ve had to work through the white. Days where energy hasn’t been quite there, life’s been a bit hectic or motivation has been low. But we’ve still turned up, got the work done and usually left with a smile.

That’s what it’s all about really. Not every session is going to feel amazing, but every session moves you forwards.

I’ve also loved seeing more people training together recently. The atmosphere has been brilliant and it’s great seeing friends, couples and small groups keeping each other accountable.

If you’ve been thinking about training with someone you know, just drop me a message. Whether it’s 2, 3 or 4 of you, I’m sure we can sort something that works at The FitNest. 👊🏼

I’ve been saying this for years.

The problem isn’t that people don’t care about their health.
It’s that they’ve been pulled away from the basics.

We live in a world that pushes convenience over quality,
stimulation over discipline,
and quick fixes over long-term results.

So people look for something more complicated…

When the answer has always been simple.

Eat real food.
Train your body.
Sleep properly.
Drink water.
Stay connected.

That’s it.

Simple doesn’t mean easy.
But it does mean effective.

I’ve seen it time and time again the people who commit to these fundamentals don’t just change their body…

They change their life.

Energy improves.
Confidence grows.
Resilience builds.

This isn’t new.
This isn’t a trend.

This is what works.

And it always has.

Save this if you need the reminder.
Consistency beats motivation.

This calorie range will likely put you in a calorie deficit for most people especially if you’re training regularly and staying active day-to-day.

Things like:
• steps / daily movement (NEAT)
• gym sessions
• general lifestyle activity

…all increase your energy expenditure, which means this intake can support fat loss over time.

These are just examples to show how you can structure your meals not something you have to follow exactly.

Focus on:
✔️ getting enough protein
✔️ building balanced meals
✔️ being consistent across the week

That’s what really drives progress.

You don’t need more motivation. You need structure.

From April 6th, I’ll be introducing an updated pricing and booking system designed to better support your training, your schedule, and your long-term results.

Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Locked-In Membership (£42/session)
Your dedicated weekly slot. Same time, every week.
Built for those who want real progress.
Consistency. Priority. Best value.
(+ 1 reschedule per month outside 24hrs)

2️⃣ Standard Booking (£45/session)
More flexibility without a fixed slot.
Ideal if your schedule varies, but you still want to train regularly.

3️⃣ Pay As You Go (£50/session)
Train when it suits you.
No commitment. Maximum flexibility.
Best for occasional sessions.

Also available:
• 2 & 3 person training (train together, stay accountable)
• Sports massage (because recovery matters)

Membership and standard options apply to 2 and 3 person sessions too.

These changes are simply to keep the business sustainable and continue delivering a high standard of coaching, environment, and support.

Any sessions purchased before April 6th will be honoured.

At the end of the day, nothing changes where it matters:

Show up. Train hard. Stay consistent.

That’s where results come from.

If you’re unsure what suits you best, message me.

Save this so you know what option fits you best.

Dessert 🤝 Performance

This Vanilla & Coffee Protein Smoothie is one of those go-to options when you want something that feels like a treat… but still supports your goals.

✔️ High in protein (26g per serving)
✔️ Low in sugar
✔️ Quick to make
✔️ Perfect post-training or afternoon pick-me-up

The combination of coffee + vanilla gives it that smooth, dessert-like taste while the protein helps support recovery and keeps you fuller for longer.

This is a great example of how you don’t need to cut out “nice” foods… you just need to make smarter versions of them.

Simple. Balanced. Effective.

Save this for later and give it a try 👇

Most people do press-ups wrong.

It’s not about how many you can do.
It’s about how well you can do them.

Every rep is an opportunity to build strength…
or reinforce bad habits.

The difference?

➡️ Control over ego
➡️ Position over speed
➡️ Quality over quantity

When you slow it down, stay tight, and move with intent…
you turn a basic exercise into a powerful tool.

Remember:

• Strong position first
• Controlled descent
• Powerful press
• No wasted movement

This is how you build real strength, not just reps.

Save this and clean up your form.

Consistency beats motivation.
