Gainsborough Dolphins This is the official page for Gainsborough Dolphins Swimming Club. Welcome! fitness swimming or competitive swimming.

Here youโ€™ll find club news and information, including gala results, upcoming events, and details about our volunteers. Gainsborough Dolphins Swimming Clubs aims to create an environment in which swimmers thrive and are able to reach their full potential. The club offers a variety of pathways to follow depending upon the needs/desires of the swimmer, e.g. The club caters for all ages and abilities, from young learn to swim children through to mature swimmers with a Masters section and competitive swimming, in a friendly, caring, secure, learning environment where the individual is valued and their needs respected. Gainsborough Dolphins Swimming Club competes in the Lincolnshire Junior League, the National Swimming League sponsored by Arena and the Squadrons. The aims are to achieve times to allow swimmers to compete in the Counties, Midlands and the Nationals meets. Last night, four of our Development swimmers who missed Sundayโ€™s session had their chance to take on The Big Swimโ€ฆ and added another 6KM to our total!

Just four swimmers, with a ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘๐‘–๐‘›๐‘’๐‘‘ ๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘™๐‘ฆ 36, managed to clock up 6KM between them. What a brilliant effort!

Our Big Swim total now stands at an incredible ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ๐Š๐Œ!

Tonight itโ€™s the turn of our Tadpoles, Penguins, Junior Fitness and Masters swimmers to take on the challenge and see how much further they can push that total.

Weโ€™ve already smashed our original 250KM targetโ€ฆ

Now the question is, how close can we get to 400KM tonight?

What an absolutely incredible night for our Tadpoles!

Tonight, just 10 of our beginner swimmers took on The Big Swim in our ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐จ๐จ๐ฅ and managed an AMAZING 6.56KM between them!

Thatโ€™s ๐—ฎ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฒ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ต๐˜€ completed by our Tadpoles!

For swimmers who are still at the beginning of their swimming journey, this is a fantastic achievement. Length after length, they kept going, worked incredibly hard and showed just how much determination our youngest swimmers have!

Their efforts have taken our Big Swim total to:

After our first evening of swimming, our incredible swimmers have clocked up a HUGE ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿต.๐Ÿฒ๐—ž๐— , meaning we have already SMASHED our original 250KM target!

A massive well done to our Development, Performance and Tadpoles swimmers who joined the challenge tonight and helped push our total beyond the target.

From Goldfish and Otters to Tadpoles, Development and Performance, every length and every width has contributed to an unbelievable opening night.

In less than 48 hours, The Big Swim officially begins as Gainsborough Dolphins take on our huge 250KM challenge!

From Sunday 6th to Thursday 10th September, swimmers from across the entire club will work together to clock up the distance and raise money for two fantastic local causes, GAPA Gainsborough and Feeding Gainsborough.

From our youngest swimmers in the teaching pool to our oldest members in the main pool, every single metre will count.

We would love as many people as possible to get behind our swimmers and help us raise as much as we can for these two brilliant local causes.

We are officially one week away from the start of our BIG SWIM!

From 6thโ€“10th September, our swimmers will come together to attempt an incredible 250KM in just five days, while raising money for two fantastic local causes: GAPA Gainsborough and Feeding Gainsborough.

From our youngest Tadpoles in the teaching pool to our competitive squads and Masters, every metre counts! Last year we completed over 91KM โ€“ this year, weโ€™re aiming for 250KM!
