Lea Park 1 Evening League Fixtures for 2025. This season we play in Division 1. We wish our 1st the best of luck in Division 1 this year with lots of great tennis! This is the first time Lea Park has had a team in Division 1 in over 10 years... Chairman Gordon Warnes was also a member of the team back then!

Fancy hitting some tennis balls in this beautiful weather?

12:00 - 13:00 FREE Coaching session with LTA Coach Eddie for adults / juniors aged 14+. At 13:00 we have our Sunday Social Tennis.

Practise some fabulous forehands and beautiful backhands; Coach Eddie will do the ball feeding, you will do the hitting.

No equipment necessary (if you have a racquet, feel free to bring it) except for a change of clean footwear to use on the tennis court!

Two weekends ago we held our 3rd annual Hancock Tournament in memory of former club member and England Rugby International, Andrew Hancock.

It was great to see so many people turn out for an afternoon of tennis and BBQ in the second half of October! It rained quite heavily before the tournament started, but luckily the forecast thereafterwards was sunny and we are blessed to have courts that drain and dry very quickly. There were a total of 17 players and Edd devised a rotary Championship Tie-break format to ensure that nobody would be sitting off for too long.

We were treated to a very pleasant and sunny afternoon of tennis followed by a fantastic BBQ by Dave. The 8 highest scoring players made it to a semi-final and then final respectively, but the best thing (apart from Dave's burger/sausage combo!) was seeing so many club members all together!!

We play tennis all-year! If you'd like to get involved and join our sessions, we'd like to hear from you, whether you are a beginner or semi-professional!

Congratulations to Ben; Lea Park Singles Champion 2024 and Eddie the runner-up. It was a super match with every game bar one going to deuce, Ben was the eventual 6-3 6-4 winner.

Ben took the £50 prize and flew off to enjoy a holiday the next day in Greece. Eddie's £20 winnings went into beer and a doner kebab.

A few photos from the Summer Singles Tournament organised by Foxx Do, who put in a lot of effort to make it work, not least with his photography and editing skills.

Lots of great tennis, some epic matches, and dare I say, a few well deserved beers drunk by the lads! Foxx, Eddie, Ben, and Lewis made the semi-finals in the top category 🎾👏

Lea Park 1 crowned champions of Division 2, which marks three consecutive promotions since we talked about re-entering the Gainsborough Evening League ☺️ From left to right in the photo: Foxx D, Steve B, Ben D, Eddie W, Danielle S, Gordon W. Captains Eddie and Gordon (Chairman) are very proud of what the team (and club) have achieved lately. The rest of the 1st team this year are: Paul B, Harry S, Simon B, Brian M, Luke W, Raymond, and Debbie Q. Well done everyone! 👏

Lea Park 1 played Retford 1 in the Div1 and 2 cup. We played valiantly, but Retford 1 were once again the deserved winners of the cup despite our large handicap. Credit to Retford 1, a team that lost a mere 5 rubbers all season in Div 1.

Retford were fantastic hosts during the Finals Day and everyone enjoyed the BBQ.

1st pair Ben/Danielle were unbeatable in the league, whilst Eddie and Foxx were present in every match this season, Cup included, which makes 17 appearances each.

Lea Park 1 look forward to next year in Div 1!
