What an incredible weekend!!!

We had an absolute blast at the Flyball Open World Cup FOWC 2026 at Norfolk Showground, hosted by Cambridgeshire Flyball . With an event of this size, a few challenges are always going to pop up, but the organisers handled everything professionally and calmly throughout the weekend. A huge thank you to all the crew, judges, ring party, photographers, and everyone working behind the scenes who made such a fantastic event possible.

For us, it was an amazing experience. We caught up with old friends, made plenty of new ones from across the flyball world, and spent the weekend learning from some of the very best teams and trainers around. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share training tips, explain techniques, answer our questions, and chat flyball with us. It was fascinating, and we've got a huge amount of inspiration and knowledge to bring back to our little club in the farthest corner of Anglesey.

Muttineers crew... be warned... we've got some new ideas to try!

Congratulations to every team that took part. Every race was exciting to watch, and the standard of racing on display was simply incredible.

A special congratulations to Storm Chasers Flyball Team for setting a new World Cup record time, and to Stormy Fly'dogs - French Flyball Team for smashing the French national record. Congratulations also to Barking 4 Balls on a fantastic second-place finish, and of course to Flyballteam Titans for taking the World Cup title. It was an honour to watch all of you compete.

On a personal note, thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome. Even though we weren't competing, we still felt part of the event, and that says a lot about the flyball community.

Who knows... maybe one day you'll see the Menai Muttineers lining up at the Flyball Open World Cup.

Safe travels home everyone, wherever your journey takes you. We'll see you on the lanes soon.

Captain Dafz and First Mate Heather are heading to Norwich this weekend to watch the Flyball Open World Cup! FOWC 2026

Some of the fastest dogs and best teams from across the world, all in one place. Different styles, different training methods, different handling techniques… and you can guarantee the Muttineers crew will be watching every second of it closely.

We’re always looking for new ideas, safer techniques, cleaner turns, faster passes, and better ways to help our dogs enjoy the sport while performing at their best. So don’t be surprised if the Captain and First Mate return to Anglesey with notebooks full of ideas and enough excitement to power the whole ship.

Who's willing to share their secrets with us?? And who are we going to press for information?

The Muttineers may be a small Anglesey team, and still be growing, but we’re aiming high and learning from the very best.

Norwich… prepare yourselves. The Muttineers are coming!!

Croeso i Eisteddfod yr Urdd Môn!

Gan fod yr Urdd yn cael ei chynnal ar Ynys Môn am y tro cyntaf ers 2004, roedd y Menai Muttineers yn meddwl y byddem ni’n cael ychydig o hwyl a dod â “Mr. Urdd” draw i fyd Chwimbel!

Aeth ein Mr. Urdd bach ar ei deithiau wythnos diwethaf. Cafodd ymweld â thrac rasio Môn, chwarae gyda’r anifeiliaid ar y fferm, a gweld rhai o’r pethau gorau sydd gan yr ynys i’w cynnig. Ond rydyn ni i gyd yn gwybod mai cariad cŵn yw Mr. Urdd ni mewn gwirionedd… ac er bod y trac rasio a’r fferm yn wych, doedd dim cŵn yno am rhesymau diogelwch! Felly, daeth draw i sesiwn hyfforddi’r Muttineers nos Lun.

Roedd hi’n noson hyfryd fel arfer. Tipyn yn rhy boeth i wthio’r cŵn yn rhy galed, ond cawsom sesiwn braf gyda’r teulu flyball, ychydig o hyfforddiant da, llawer o chwerthin, a chyfle i gwrdd â’n recriwt newydd, Milly y Golden Retriever wych!

Pob lwc i bawb yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd eleni. Rydym yn gobeithio eich bod yn cael amser arbennig ar Ynys Môn!

A pheidiwch ag anghofio rhannu’r fideo a dangos i Gymru beth yw Chwimbel!

Welcome to the Anglesey, Urdd Eisteddfod!

With the Urdd being hosted on Anglesey for the first time since 2004, the Menai Muttineers thought we’d join in the fun and introduce our Mr. Urdd to the world of Chwimbel!

Our little Mr. Urdd went on quite the adventure last week. He visited Anglesey Circuit, spent time meeting animals on the farm, and explored some of the brilliant things Anglesey has to offer. But we all know our Mr. Urdd is really a huge dog fan… and while the race circuit and farm were great fun, there were no dogs in sight for safety reasons! So naturally, he joined us for Monday evening training.

It was another lovely session with the Muttineers crew. A little too warm to push the dogs too hard, but we still had a fantastic social evening with our flyball family, a bit of training, plenty of laughs, and we even got to meet our newest recruit, Milly the magnificent Golden Retriever!

A huge welcome to everyone visiting Anglesey Live for Eisteddfod yr Urdd, and good luck to everyone competing. We hope you’re having an amazing time on our island!

And don’t forget to share the video and help us show Wales what Chwimbel is all about!

Just because the captain has taken the day off to go explore some caves down mid Wales coast... Undoubtedly looking for abandoned hidden rum smugglers dens!!

It doesn't mean the crew gets a week off! This week we kept working on the box techniques and got this lovely video to show for it!!

The Muttineers WILL rock you!!

15/05/2026

Monday evening was a huge milestone for the Menai Muttineers.

For the first time in club history, we ran head-to-head without central netting… and the dogs absolutely smashed it.

We worked on passing at the start gates, box work, and then finally took the big step towards open racing. No nets, no barriers, just two lanes and trusting the training. Every single dog ran clean all night.

Now, anyone who knows the Muttineers knows we don’t rush things. We’d rather take our time and build safe, confident dogs than throw them into racing too early. So we’ll stay at this stage for a while yet before entering open competition, but this is a massive step forward for the club, the dogs, and their handlers.

Arlo, Izzie, Olaf, Coco, Chip, Rizzo, Cheddar, Snow, Maggie, and Ember are all edging closer to being race ready. A few still need some polishing on box technique before we light the fuse properly, but the progress is there for everyone to see.

As for the rest of the crew… homework has been issued, you know what you need to do.

Watch this space. The Muttineers are coming for you.
