All Love.golf experiences are led by PGA Professionals at friendly and welcoming golf venues. I’ve never played before; does that matter? Absolutely not! love.golf is perfect for beginners as well as those who may have tried golf once or twice before but not had the opportunity to take it up. If you want to get back into the game, you are also very welcome! Do I have to join the golf club to take part? As a love.golf member, you’ll be made welcome in the clubhouse. Most Love.golf groups find they want to get together after their sessions for a cup of tea or coffee and talk golf. It’s a fun, social experience; probably not what you are expecting golf to be. Do I need any equipment? Everything is provided, including equipment and golf balls. What do I wear? Whatever you are comfortable in. Most love.golf venues have a relaxed approach to dress codes, so jeans and trainers are generally fine. If you’re not sure, just ask your friendly coach. Do I need proper golf shoes? No, but you may want to bring a change of shoes to go into the clubhouse after. What happens each week? love.golf is a six-week programme tailored to each group of women. The focus is on learning through playing the game, so ‘expect the unexpected’; you’ll most likely find yourself playing a golf hole in the first session. Don’t worry, you will be accompanied by your PGA Professional at all times, so you’re in safe hands. What will I learn? You will be taught some basic fundamentals, including how to stand and grip the club, but you’ll learn this along the way. You’ll actually progress quicker by spending more time having fun and playing the game. Why is love.golf different to most golf coaching? Traditionally, golf coaching has focused on learning skills on a practice range. love.golf takes an alternative approach and is based on proven academic studies and market research that shows women learn most effectively through enjoyment and the playing of games. Being taught by a fully qualified coach is still essential, though, and your six-week programme is led by a PGA Professional who has also been trained in the love.golf approach.
