We Are Affinity
Paul is Co-Founder of Affinity Wellbeing, with 16 years in the fitness industry and a background in design and photography spanning 27 years, including work with companies such as Nike and adidas.
He holds qualifications across CrossFit, Personal Training, British Weightlifting, kettlebells, Pilates, Reformer Pilates and more. But, like Kat, he’d tell you that qualifications only tell part of the story. His biggest strength has always been making things happen. Spotting potential. Helping people develop. Turning ideas into something real. Looking at what exists and asking how it could be better.
His design background naturally feeds into all of this: branding, marketing, clothing, events, photography, creative direction, and even our CrossFit programming.
That same attention to detail shapes the way he approaches our programming, creating WODs that are not only fun and engaging, but deliver the greatest possible return for our members. He understands what works, what doesn’t, and, importantly, why. It’s an instinct for detail that extends beyond what people see.
And alongside all of that, he still coaches, trains and competes. Approaching 50, he’s never bought into the idea that getting older means doing less. He believes the basic fundamentals work. Train consistently. Move well. Eat well. Recover. Sleep. Repeat. Nothing particularly glamorous. Just the things that work when you do them for long enough reaps rewards.
Becoming a father changed the reason behind it all. His sons are watching. So the goal isn’t to look like you have everything figured out. It’s to show them what it looks like to keep going, keep learning, take responsibility and have a go at things that scare you. That might mean training on the gym floor, competing in an arena, running, climbing a mountain or getting out on the water. And sometimes getting it completely wrong. Because 16 years in, Paul is still learning, and still looking for the next idea.
The goal was never simply to get fit. It’s to keep moving forward. To keep becoming. And to build something worth leaving behind. Until Victory Always.
