Frome Chess Club Chess club based in Frome, Somerset. We enter 3 teams in the Somerset league and organise the annual

Always looking for new members of any chess playing strength. Members can play casual games, play in the club championship or play for Frome in the Somerset league. Club meets Monday evenings at 19:30 at the Cheese and Grain.. Frome chess club is one of the oldest clubs in Somerset, founded in 1886. The club held a centenary celebration in 1986 with events around Frome e.g. street fayre, simultane

ous display by Grandmaster Michael Adams etc. In 1990 the club started the annual May Frome Chess Congress. This Congress has Sections catering for all standards and ages of players from rank beginners to Grandmasters and attracts up to 200 entrants from all over the UK (and even abroad).
