Last weekend round 3 & 4 of the SuperOne Championship took us to Rowrah.
SATURDAY-Dry all day and even some sunshine.
Heat 1= 8th
Heat 2 = 8th
Final = 5th
SUNDAY-Wet all day, and racing suspended for 1hr due to fog.
Heat 1 = 5th
Heat 2 = 7th
Final = 6th

Having not been in the seat for a month and competitive grid of 34 juniors drivers I'm very happy with the results and pleased to pick up some championship points moving me up to 6th after 4 rounds.👍. A fun weekend shared with friends and the BLRacing.😀

The SuperOne Championship took us to GYG for round 1 & 2. First time in the championship and having never raced at GYG previously and a big grid of 34 drivers the target was a top 10 finish.

Saturdays Round 1 started great with us coming 5th in qualifying. Heat 1 finished in a strong 6th. Heat 2 an issue with setup and a dropped nose cone 5 place penalty meant we only managed 16th. In the Final was due to finish 9th until last corner of the last lap when a lunge from the kart behind took us both off and limbed over the line for 21st 😞

Sundays Round 2 - a terrible qualifying session put me 25th and meant there would be lots of work do in the heats. Heat 1 started 25th made up 8 places and finished 17th. Heat 2 starting 25th again, had a good drive making up 11 positions to finish 14th. Starting 13th for the final, managed to make up a could more places and finish 11th.

A weekend of ups 👍 and downs 😭 but that’s racing and came away smiling 😊.

Great to be back at Rowrah last weekend and in the seat again. The final was looking promising for a podium having made my way up to 3rd. Unfortunately with just 4 laps to go the brake pressure went, a split in the pipe and unfortunately had to concede places. Some good Saturday testing with BLR and looking forward to coming back in 2 months time with the SuperOne Championship. 👍

The highs and lows of kart racing!
With a change in chassis we went in to this weekend not expecting much other than to gain experience and to adjust.
Testing went better than expected on Friday and Saturday and then gave me confidence for the race day.
Qualifying P2 (with a PB and just missing pole by less than 2/100ths of a second)
Heat 1 P2-P2 (I started on the outside and lost a place but then fought hard to regain it)
Heat 2 P2-P2 (I stayed on the back of the leader but struggled to have enough pace to overtake)
Final P2-P9 (A bit of a messy start and went down to 4th but then regained to third, sadly an engine problem mid race meant we dropped down to P9 to finish the race)
The results wasn’t what we hoped to come away with but the pace was there 👍.

I would like to say thanks to Mike, Dave, Josh and Charlie for the help on the new chassis. And also my Mum and Dad for the constant support.

Not everyday when the person next to you in the paddock with a kart is a past F1 Driver and Sky Sports presenter. Johnny Herbert what a legend and an extremely nice guy!
