Tuesday 16th June saw Frinton Links Ladies host their annual Ladies Guest Day, with this year’s theme being “Tickled Pink.” A total of 36 players took part, with ladies and their guests embracing the theme and looking fabulous in pink as they enjoyed a day of golf, friendship and fun.

The event, organised by Ladies Captain Sandra Balderston, was a great success from start to finish. Players were treated to glorious sunshine and a course presented in fantastic condition, providing the perfect setting for the occasion.

Following the golf, everyone gathered in the clubhouse to enjoy excellent food and drink, with the atmosphere throughout the day being relaxed, friendly and full of laughter.

Congratulations to Ginny Richardson and her guest Sally Cearns, who were crowned winners.

A huge thank you goes to Sandra and all those involved in organising the day. With beautiful weather, a superb golf course, wonderful company and first-class hospitality, it was a memorable occasion that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. 🌸🏌️‍♀️💗

A strong field took part in the Club Challenge Bowl on Saturday 30th May, with Phil Gray producing an excellent round to take the title with a superb nett 66. David Cross finished in second place on nett 67, claiming the runner-up spot on countback ahead of Jake Adams after both players returned the same score.

The Ladies Club Championships took place on Tuesday 2nd June, with competitors facing a true test of golf and endurance over 36 holes in a day that delivered every type of weather imaginable, from wind and heavy rain to sunshine and even thunderstorms. Rising to the challenge, Claire Vaughan produced the best gross score of the day to claim the Ladies Club Championship title with a 36-hole total of 167. The Jemma Jackson Nett Trophy was awarded to Kirsten Hansen, whose excellent nett score of 147 secured her the victory in the handicap competition.

The annual WAGS v Seniors v Ferrets competition took place on Wednesday 3rd June, with all three sections competing for the trophy kindly donated by the Club President. In a historic result, the WAGS emerged victorious, securing their first win since the inception of the event.

The Men’s Leslie Wood Plate team took on Woolston Manor yesterday in a match that featured several closely fought contests across both venues. While the overall result did not go to Frinton’s way, the day was played in fantastic spirit, with excellent sportsmanship shown by all players both home and away.

The ladies finished their Essex Bronze League with a fantastic win away at Langdon Hills on Sunday. The match was played in good spirits and most importantly dry conditions allowing the ladies to enjoy the course and each other’s company.
