Members from both the Havers and Kirby courses came together on Saturday 20th June for the annual Directors Cup, a popular event generously provided by the Club and enjoyed by golfers from across all sections.
Played in excellent spirit, the competition produced some remarkably close scoring and a number of tightly contested finishes.
On the Havers Course, victory went to Ginny Richardson, Louise Wood, Ian Watts and Angela Low who had an impressive score of 84 points, beating Danny Dix, Jason Bowler, Simon Martin-Redman and Paul Mutton on countback after both teams finished on the same score.
The competition remained incredibly close throughout the field, with Kevin Maleary, Bill Burns, Mark Smith and Brian Foskew taking third place on 83 points, narrowly ahead of Alan Morrison, Tony Wilson, Martin Waters and Vince Mcauley who finished on 82 points.
Over on the Kirby Course, the winning team of Matthew Holmes, Raine Adams, Gordon Farrington and Steven Berg claimed victory with an excellent score of 51 points. They were closely followed by Dave Robinson, Kevin Gurner, Tracey Robinson and Martin McMahon who finished just one point behind on 50 points.
