West Wight Swimming Club is Swim 21 accredited. Welcome to the West Wight Swimming Club page.

This means we are dedicated to creating the best possible swimming experiences for all and to raising the quality of swimming provision across all areas. The club was formed in 1969, initially by a group of Isle of Wight people wishing to swim for enjoyment. Two years later, the club became affiliated to the ASA. After moves to several Island pools, the West Wight Swimming Pool Trust was formed wh

o, together with SPLASH, the fund-raising body of local supporters, took on the challenge to build our own pool in Freshwater. This dream became a reality in 1978 when the Island's first indoor heated pool was officially opened by the Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

Lots of medals, lots of pbs, lots of fast swimming and as always, most importantly - happy swimmers 😀

Throughout the entire meet all swimmers had fantastic attitudes and set their own targets/goals, that they absolutely smashed! Lots learned and to work on in training. A very successful competition! 🥳🥳

Message from Beth ahead of tomorrow’s sprints:

Looking ahead to this weekends action, we have a 16
Swimmer strong team attending!

Please let us know if you need a WW swim cap.

Please arrive at the Medina pool no later than 1500. For a 1520 warm up.
West wight will be warming up in lane 1.

Spectator entry cost will be £2.

Good luck to all our swimmers! I’m sure the poolside atmosphere will be exciting and we’ll see lots of PB’s tumble’

Hi everyone,

I hope you’ve managed to enjoy some of the sunshine! 🌞 Just to make you all aware, Jack will be running a land training session next week (Tuesday 26th May, 5-6pm) 😊 This will be a great opportunity to work on some strength and fitness aspects that are crucial for swimmers - improving core strength, upper strength, coordination etc. It will be a fun, social session… so don’t miss out! 🤩

A fantastic effort for such a young team and at their first LC competition.

Huge Well Done to Marley, Madelyn, Junior and James 😁 For some it’s their first time racing in a 50m pool! Which makes it even more impressive to come away with 3 big pbs and 1 county qualifying time 💥

Also a big shoutout to Beth, Sophie and Laura for supporting our swimmers ☺️
