🏆 LANCASHIRE AMATEUR SHIELD – ROUND 2 🏆

Freckleton FC 3-3 CMB
Freckleton win 4-3 on penalties! 🔴⚫️

Goalscorers:
⚽ Danny Scarlett
⚽ Jonny Hodge
⚽ Courtney Skerritt

The lads knew some hard work would be needed going into this one, facing a Premier Division side, but they were ready for the challenge! 💪

20 minutes in, Freckleton found themselves 2-0 down. But the lads didn’t let their heads drop and kept battling, knowing there was still plenty of football to be played.

Just before half-time, Jack Williams got a shot on target, and Danny Scarlett made sure the ball found the back of the net with a well-taken tap-in!

Half-time: Freckleton 1-2 CMB

Whatever was said in that changing room clearly worked, as the lads came back out with their heads held high, knowing this game was far from over!

15 minutes into the second half, a beautiful pass found Jonny Hodge, who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-2! 👏

Shortly after, CMB were awarded a free kick just outside the box. The ball was curled around the wall and into the bottom-right corner, putting Freckleton behind once again.

The lads turned up the pressure, pushed further up the pitch and kept fighting for that equaliser.

And in the 84th minute, their hard work paid off! The ball fell to Courtney Skerritt, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net to bring Freckleton level at 3-3! 🔥

With six minutes left to play, there was still everything to fight for.
The final whistle blew, and it was time for penalties!

Freckleton held their nerve and came out victorious, winning 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the next round! 🏆🙌

A massive well done to all the lads! It was always going to be a tough game against a Premier Division side, but the effort and determination shown to come back from 2-0 down were outstanding.

ON TO THE NEXT ROUND!
