Yoga the Hatha Way Yoga classes in Fowey with Sarah. Classes are welcoming and inclusive, for all ages and all bodies. Complete beginners especially welcome.

Private classes available for a little extra focus or to give you confidence to come along to a class. I'm happy to answer any questions you have - just drop me an email. Especially if those questions are along the lines of 'Aren't I too old/too stiff/the wrong shape for yoga?'. pt every class to suit my students, so that every body can benefit. Classes are either 1 hour or 1 hour 15 minutes. You don't need to bring much with you. Wear some comfy soft clothing - you don't need anything fancy. Bring some water, and maybe some warm socks and a shawl or blanket for relaxation if that's your thing.

It's back to our mats time!
September still inspires that 'time for something new' feeling, even though it's been a *very* long time since I've been at school...
And even though I've been a yoga student and teacher for many years, there is always something new to learn.

If you're feeling the same, come and join us. Maybe you've had an active summer and the muscles and joints are a bit stiffer than normal? Or maybe you've not been active for a while, but are promising yourself you need to make a change? Either way, this could be just what you're looking for.

I run small friendly classes for the over 50s, covering some movement, breathwork, balance and a quiet space for busy minds.

Ladies class on Fridays at 10.30
Chaps class on Mondays at 14.30.
Both in the private space upstairs at the British Legion in Fowey, and both £10.
No fancy clothes required, and we use lots of props so that every body can enjoy the class.

Edit: I’ve had a couple of questions about the chaps class, so here are some more details:
- no, you don’t need to have done yoga before. You don’t need a high level of mobility, if you can get up the stairs to the room, you’ll be fine 😊
- we start on chairs, and they’re always available if sitting on the floor isn’t comfortable for you.
- there isn’t an age limit (upper or lower). My current students are 60+, but all are welcome 🧡

Friday will the last ladies class for the summer - if you fancy a taster before the summer break, you’d be very welcome.

I’m not going to claim yoga can fix it all, but it does give you a quiet space of ‘me time’ and an opportunity to connect with yourself physically and mentally.
What does that really mean? A class of movement, with some strength, flexibility, balance, and a little breath work. Taught in an accessible way, with some smiles thrown in 😊

Men’s class Mondays 14.30-15.30 (1 space available)
Ladies class Fridays 11.00-12.15 (2 spaces available).
Both upstairs at the British Legion in Fowey, £10.

It's that time of year - the change of a season often makes us think of changes we might want to make too. And September still has that 'back to school' vibe that creates an exciting engergy (or is that just me?!).
So if you are thinking about how to help your body and mind, come and try a yoga class. Build some strength and flexibility, and enjoy some peace and focus.

Men's class: Mondays, 14.30-15.30
Ladies class: Fridays, 11.00-12.15

Both classes upstairs at the British Legion in Fowey.

If you haven't been to a yoga class before:
- it may feel a bit intimidating to walk through the door, but my classes are perfect for beginners, friendly and accessible for everyone
- no special clothes or equipment are needed. Come comfortable (I have a spare mat if you let me know you would like to borrow it)
- if you think everyone in the room will know what they are doing and you'll stick out like a sore thumb, I promise that's not the case. I teach in a way that means everyone can experience a pose.
- you may think you are too old, too stiff, too inexperienced to start now. But if not now, when? Being healthier means doing something a bit different (and it doesn't have to be yoga. But yoga *is* great!).

The sun is shining, there's a gentle breeze and I've got so many things to be grateful for.....and one of those is not suffering any consequences from a couple of nights in a tent and a couple of days of festival dancing! I'd like to think a regular yoga practice is very much a part of that 😍

Time to start thinking about classes for the autumn. If you're ready to build some more flexibility into your life, in a way that is perfect for beginners and suitable for all bodies, and with a friendly group of people, now's the time to get your diary out!

Ladies class starts on 26 September (Fridays 11.00-12.15).
Men's class starts on 29 September (Mondays 14.30-15.30).

Both upstairs at the British Legion in Fowey.

If you've not done any yoga before, this is a perfect place to start. Drop me a message with any questions - I'll be happy to guide you through what happens in a class.

Time to get back to our mats!

Ladies class on Fridays at 11.00-12.15, and for a few weeks the chaps class will also be on Fridays at 12.30-13.30. Both at the British Legion in Fowey.

They are small, friendly classes and perfect for beginners or those with some experience. No fancy gear required and lots of props to help if needed.
