Ring of Steall, we knew the avalanche risk may cause us to turn back, when we reached the ridge beneath Am Bodach (top right mountain) we decided to turn back. Our retreat involved 3 hours of post holing in deep, but safe snow, meant we made it back for tea and cakes! If we had ignored the avalanche warning signs and completed the route it would have potentially taken less time.......

Aonach Eagach, Glencoe, part of the ridge is translated as 'Rocky peak of Fian's warriors'. Never seen many warriors here but it is a tough scramble, not hard but lots of exposure with stunning views.
