Who knows if the solution to my problems is running the 170km long Ultra Tour Monte Rosa, but I am buzzing for it and very psyched to be getting stuck into training! 😆

There are so many different exercises, it's hard to know which ones would be beneficial to your activities.

So here's 3 simple exercises to include if you're training for ski touring:

⛷️ Single Leg Romanian Deadlifts - a standard RDL is great, but the single leg variation is better since you spend so much time on one leg while skiing. RDL's target your glutes and hamstrings, and doing them on one leg helps to hit all three glute muscles, improving knee stability.

⛷️ Russian Twists - ski touring involves a lot of twisting, so replicate that with this exercise. Russian twists work your obliques, which are the main muscles used in the twisting motion, as well as your deep core muscles, abs and erector spinae.

⛷️ Skaters - this dynamic exercise will build strength and power for the downhill part of your next ski touring trip. They work your quads, glutes, and outer and inner thighs, improving stability. You'll feel the benefits through your turns with this one!

These exercises can be done with and without weights. As always, start with no weight or very light weights, and increase gradually 🏋‍♀️
