🌊 Knoydart Wild Swim Weekend 🌿

Big news — our Knoydart adventure is happening! 🏔️✨
We’ll be heading to one of Scotland’s most remote and beautiful peninsulas for two nights of exploring, swimming, and a healthy dose of adventure. Expect dips in stunning waters, a visit to Britain’s most remote pub 🍻, and optional extras like a sauna session or bushcraft tour!

📍 Where: Knoydart Peninsula
🏠 Stay: Knoydart Bunkhouse
💰 Cost: £58 per person (2 nights)
📅 Dates: Fri 5 – Sun 7 December

🚆 Travel Plans:
Friday 5 Dec – Depart Fort William at 12pm → train to Mallaig → 2:15pm ferry to Inverie
Sunday 7 Dec – Return ferry at 3pm, back in Fort William by 5:30pm
(You can arrive earlier or later if needed!)

This year we decided to fundraise for the Coastguard Association and our club through the Dipmas challenge.

Now we have completed the 12 days (with some members continuing on throughout December!) we kindly ask you consider supporting our fundraiser.

The Coastguard Association is a charity that supports Coastguard personnel and their families in times of need. They help provide essential welfare assistance and recognition for those who risk their lives to keep our coasts safe. Your contributions make a significant difference in ensuring these brave individuals and their loved ones receive the support they deserve.

Our club is currently free to all members and the money will help us keep running this way, making our club as accessible as possible to all.

Embrace the chill and join UHIWS for the 12 days of Dipmas! For the first 12 days of December, we’re organising daily swims to encourage people to get outside, and celebrate the beauty of winter, despite the shorter, colder days while fundraising for our club and charity (HM Coastguard).

Whether you’re a seasoned wild swimmer, a complete beginner, or further afield, we encourage absolutely everyone to get involved in this challenge and make the most of December!

What are the locations/times?
We have several exciting locations in mind but plan to make final arrangements a day or two before to consider weather and other arrangements. Please join our WhatsApp group chat (linked in bio) where we will post and discuss this.

Who can join?
Anyone! Everyone is welcome whether you are a student or not, only requirement for attending club swims is you fill in a quick (completely free) membership form (linked in our bio). If anyone is further afield we still encourage you to take part, tag us in or send us any photos - we love to see new locations!🥰

Who are we fundraising for?

This year we will be fundraising for the HM Coastguard . HM Coastguard is the UK’s national maritime emergency service, responsible for coordinating search and rescue operations at sea and along the coastline. They operate 24/7, ensuring the safety of those in distress through a network of rescue teams and helicopters.
