Fabulous fly wallets. A Belgian friend lost one in Iceland last year full of lovely flies, south east of Arnarvatn stora lake.

A bit worried about this drifting around Sutherland! But more concerned with it's pilot😄

My season has ended so the Prep for 2026 has now started, Sutherland booked for 2026 & 2027, Greenland for July 2026 ! My mugshot could be on this share next year hopefully holding a char monster. Taff & Tywi for salmon, sewin and big trout. Looking for 2 days on the Annan on the way up in early June. Enjoy your winter looking through the maps and figuring out the contours especially after Fly Culture's article by Danny Adcock on Assynt lochs up the Inchnadamph track. I have fished the Loch Bealach a Mhadaidh mentioned and the ones north west of the Gorm loch (the source of the Cassely) but the bigger fish are in 300 258. Well 20 years ago! Cheers G

Great last few days of the salmon season here on the Tywi. Fantastic location now that I am a Senior Citizen and back here after 50 years. No fish about though but good casting practice with 12ft 6in #8 weight.

It looks fishy but no, cotoletta milanese a traditional veal dish here in Milan. Wine all mine as Lynda in her sick bed after a bad 18 hours of food poisoning. Was eventually a bit dry but not bad for £9.00. Sort of enjoying Milan culture in the suburbs.

Hope all follower's are aware of the blog? that is the reason for this page?
If not follow link in title etc
I have been thinking, dangerous when on holiday in Italy and F1 tomorrow. But I need a challenge as in Spain next week for a long week away.
Not my fishing memoirs but turning my and friends articles into an online book with pictures.
Writing some new articles updating old ones asking friends for some aswell. Including photos as you read.
Actual books are OK but not interested in making money, just passing on fun, experience and a little wisdom.
You don't need to comment as I am feeling it's got to happen.
Watch this space. 90% Sutherland of course.
Cheers Graham

Having a catch up on my backlog of T & S. Finished July and now on to August. Reading Mick Collinson article on Dionard is very enjoyable and I think I sent him a message after a previous article on the Calver lochs north of the Duart River and Loch. If not it was to our Big Fish what's app group who are always interested in big fish stories however old the fish or story was. Billy the gillie and barman told us of a lady who insisted on visiting this sea view loch as had a 5lb fish off there in the 50's.
A very old story!!.Never fished Dionard but there be big trout in the lochs north and west which have a good viewpoint of the drifting boat on a June day. We'll worth the six mile walk. Cheers Graham

Great day out in the rain on Scourie & District Angling lochs this afternoon. Just fished 3 nice lochs not far off the road at the Freighart( hotel lochs) parking spot. Unusual lochs with some very steep approaches. Hooked 7 fish and rose a lot more but amazing that black olive hatches started when the rain kept coming in. Dry and wet. Black snatcher my new favourite fly! Some fish were well over a lb which was good to see. Last days trouting for a while cheers Graham

A tough week for the Welsh at Forsinard this last fortnight we were thrashed by the Belgie nearly every day. Not done the figures yet but Michel just kept on catching trout and the brothers struggled. A great day with a 7lb and a 5lb fish sealed the big fish comp. May never been beaten. Could not weigh mine last year but similar length but not the weight. My thoughts are that the trouts have eaten well in the last 3 months with their great weather and are of good weight. They are a bit picky as well as I tonight after a full smogersboard of cottage leftovers. In kylesku for a few days trying to get to red, green and little green corrie tomorrow . But see how the bones feel in the morning. Watch out for half naked fisherman in assynt trying to cool off.final photo of my dinner view. Cheers Graham zźzzz

After a late night and a few wee drams we made it too Watten on a boat with an engine from the famous Hugo Ross. Very nasty downpours which could have been hail at times and Pete got soaked as no waterproofs. 7 hours in I had a 1 1/4 lb fish which fought really hard and counted but never made the net. 3 minutes later hooked into a monster but on and off in a flash. So 1-0 win and a sad wet older brother who ate all his pies by 6pm. No fishing tomorrow but in Kirk from 3pm.
