Some big news Folks. After 5 years, I have decided to wind up The Training Folk. It has been an incredible journey but it is time for a new challenge. The business has done really well and I am so proud of what I have achieved. I have met some lovely people and learned so much. I would like to thank everyone that has supported the business over the last 5 years. Special thanks go to Jacqui Taylor at UHI Moray for letting me run wild at the college and making me feel like part of the team. Big shout out to Breedon for involving me in shaping the future of new recruits. I would also like to thank some of the companies that I have had the pleasure of working with. Walkers, Gordon & MacPhail, and Johnstons of Elgin to name a few. Huge thanks to Russell and Kerry Anderson at Cairn Joinery for their advice, support and the chippies.
And last but not least, my husband Glen for standing by me.
So the new journey begins in April when I will be taking up my role as General Manager with Tony Weir Contractor Ltd. Thanks everyone!

So, I gave a major sweet tooth. I do like to have some sweeties on my desk. These however, are the work of Satan. I cannot stop eating them. I know what you will say, "stop buying them then". What's your favourite sweetie that you just cannot resist?

Just realised how long ago it was since I posted something. Lots of things happening this coming year and a few changes. I will no longer be delivering the CITB Health and Safety courses. I just got too busy, so something had to give. I have also stopped offering Modern Apprenticeships. It is very hard to say "No" when you run your own business but I had to decide what was best for me. Anyway onto new projects in 2024!

Attended a career fair yesterday at Elgin Town Hall. This was probably one of the best ones I have been at. Well done to DYW team for organising. I was helping out on Tony Weir Contractor stand but also got a chance to catch up with some old colleagues.

Delivering some training down at Loch Insh today. Sun and snow. Weather wasn't great but still a fantastic view. And no, the training was not water sports!

Had a great time at the DYW Big Build Challenge on Friday at UHI Moray. I was asked to judge and I have to say, it was a really hard job. The entries were amazing. Here is me testing out Nelson's Tower as my good friend Forbes holds the door open.

Delivered a Manual Handling session on Friday. One of the wee exercises I get the group to do is mark up a drawing showing what PPE they should wear on site. Here is one. Worthy of Tony Hart's gallery? :)
