Our Ebac Northern League fixture against Shildon this afternoon will go ahead as scheduled, despite serious concerns regarding the safety and welfare of players and club officials due to hazardous travel conditions.

West Allotment Celtic raised these concerns directly with the League and formally requested that the fixture be postponed in light of the obvious risks posed by dangerous road conditions. That request has been declined.

West Allotment Celtic would like to place on record its disappointment with this decision. Safety is our priority, it is just a football match at the end of the day.

๐Ÿ“ฃAllotment Launch Reserve Side ๐ŸŸขโšช

West Allotment Celtic is pleased to announce the formation of a Reserve side as it looks to develop a pathway into senior football.

The former Bedlington Terriers team, who currently compete in the Northern Alliance Premier Division, will now operate under the clubโ€™s umbrella as West Allotment Celtic Reserves.

This move shows West Allotment Celticโ€™s commitment to supporting local talent and giving players a chance to take the next step in their football careers. The Reserves team will keep competing in the Northern Alliance Premier Division, giving young players an important platform to push for a place in the first team.

The club is dedicated to developing young players as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028. Any player interested in joining the new reserve side, which will also train alongside the first team, is invited to email [email protected].

West Allotment Celtic are now accepting applications for the position of First Team Manager.

Bringing Allotment Home is the clubโ€™s long-term vision to reconnect West Allotment with its roots, its people, and its purpose โ€” developing players, creating clear pathways, and building a truly community-focused football club.

The role of First Team Manager sits at the heart of this mission.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
+ Developing young players capable of progressing to higher levels of non-league football
+ Supporting their development with a core of experienced players who lead by example

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of a historic club as we look to establish a competitive Northern League side supported by strong community roots.

๐Ÿ“ฃFawcett To Take Temporary Charge โšช ๐ŸŸข

West Allotment Celtic are pleased to confirm the appointment of Tony Fawcett as Caretaker Manager.

The former Whickham and Consett manager will take charge of first team affairs from Wednesday eveningโ€™s game against Guisborough Town, while the club commences its recruitment process for a permanent manager.

Tony is a well known throughout the Northern League, bringing extensive experience to the role and will be assisted by Trevor Baston and former West Allotment goalkeeper Chris Bannon during this interim period.

West Allotment Celtic would like to thank Tony, Trevor and Chris for stepping into the role at such short notice. Everyone is encouraged to get behind Tony and the players as preparations continue for the upcoming fixtures.

The club would like to thank all those who have expressed an interest in the managerial position so far and a further announcement regarding the process for applicants will be made in due course.

West Allotment Celtic will commence the process for applications for the position of manager in the coming days.

During this process the club will outline its vision for the future of the club, during an exciting period for the club as we look to return Allotment home to the village where it was founded whilst maintaining our Northern League Division One status. In the short term, we will be appointing a caretaker manager to allow the club to carry out a thorough recruitment process.

We are committed to seeing this club grow and to enter its 100th year stronger than ever before.

West Allotment Celtic can confirm that Reece Chapman has tonight resigned as manager.

Reece was appointed in May 2025, leading the club to memorable wins against Newcastle Blue Star and Boro Rangers. The club would like to place on record their sincere thanks for his commitment, hard work and effort โ€“ efforts that often didnโ€™t get the results the performances deserved.

Assistant Manager Damen Mullen also departs with our thanks, for his contributions on and off the field since he joined the club last season โ€“ it was a pleasure to have someone with his experience representing the club.

Everyone at West Allotment Celtic would like to wish both Reece and Damen the best of luck in the future.

A further announcement regarding the managerial position will be made in the coming days.
