Sunshine, a full garden and a bit of friendly competition. Summer at its very best ☀️

Three generations out on the lawn, everyone in the same game, and not a single person stuck on the sidelines.

That's the part we're proudest of. None of our kit rewards being young or quick on your feet, so a five-year-old, a fourteen-year-old and even a great-grandmother can all compete for real. No handicaps. No adjustments. No concessions necessary!

Few things beat watching a great-grandmother knock a teenager off the top of the scoreboard 🏆

It works just as well on a school field, at a summer fête, in a day centre garden, at a holiday club or on a back lawn on a Sunday afternoon. Wherever there's a bit of grass and a few people who fancy a go.

We've picked four that play brilliantly outdoors and pull absolutely everyone in. Have a look 👇

With UK gardens only available four months aof the year here's four outdoor games everyone can play, that still work indoors come October.

A ten-year-old, a grandparent, a wheelchair user and someone who has never played before. Same game, same rules, and any of them could win.

That is boccia.

It is a Paralympic sport, but you need no court, no coach and no special facility to start. A flat indoor floor, a set of balls and a roll of tape will do it, and most people have the rules in about two minutes.

Our new guide covers what boccia is, who can play, where you can play, the benefits, and what you need to run a first session. Written for schools, care homes and community groups. 🔴🔵

Bowls, but for everyone. ☀️

New Age Bowls takes the much-loved game and makes it work on any surface, indoors or out, seated or standing. No green required, no experience needed, just roll your bowl as close to the target as you can.

It's a summer favourite in care settings, clubs and community groups, and a brilliant way to get everyone outside and involved.

From 8 to 80, everyone on the same team. 💙

One of the best things about inclusive sport is the way it brings the generations together. Grandparents and grandchildren, residents and visitors, pupils and teachers, all playing the same game on a level field.

A round of New Age Kurling or Boccia is never just about the score. It's about connection, laughter and a bit of friendly rivalry.

As the UK faces another summer heatwave, keeping participants safe is a priority for anyone running sport and activity sessions. Particularly in schools, care homes and community settings.

Many of the people who benefit most from inclusive and adaptive sport are also those at higher risk in hot weather: older adults, young children, and people with underlying health conditions. The good news, as the UK Health Security Agency notes, is that many heat-related harms are preventable with a few simple steps.

Our latest article pairs the official "Beat the Heat" guidance with practical advice for session leaders, including:

• Scheduling around the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)
• Keeping indoor spaces cool and well-ventilated
• Hydration and sun-safety essentials
• Recognising the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke

Because New Age Kurling, Boccia, Indoor Bowls and Pétanque are low-impact and designed for indoor play, they offer a safe, inclusive way to keep people active and connected through the warmer months.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Official UK heatwave advice made practical for inclusive sport. Keep your club, school or care home sessions cool, hydrated and safe this summer.

What a day at the Kent School Games in Medway! 🏆

With more than 28 schools taking part, it was a brilliantly busy event, and a real privilege to be there. The organisers did a fantastic job, spreading activities across three locations on the sports ground and keeping everything running smoothly from start to finish.

We got to introduce New Age Kurling and Boccia to schools from right across Kent, and the highlights came thick and fast:

✨ Watching a couple of children try Kurling for the very first time and pick it up almost instantly. The smiles said it all.

✨ Seeing mixed ages and mixed abilities playing side by side, all enjoying the same game. That's exactly what inclusive sport should look like.

✨ Two schools telling us New Age Kurling was the best sport of the day, which is high praise given everything else on offer.

It was lovely to be recognised by name by schools and organisers we've met at previous events too. Those relationships across the Kent sporting community mean a great deal to us.

If your school would like to give inclusive sport a go, we'd love to hear from you: https://kurling.com/contact/

A huge thank you to everyone who organised and attended. We're already looking forward to the next one. 💙

The whole world is watching the football this summer. ⚽

And while the pros battle it out on the pitch, here's a reminder of something we love: the best games are the ones where everyone gets to play. No subs bench, no sitting out.

That's the spirit behind New Age Kurling, Boccia and Bowls. Whatever your age, mobility or ability, you're on the team and in the game.

This Learning Disability Week (15 to 21 June), the theme is "Do you see me?", a reminder to make sure everyone is seen, heard and included.

Inclusive sport is one of the simplest ways to do exactly that. A game of New Age Kurling or Boccia brings people together on a level playing field, where age, mobility and ability make no difference to who can join in and enjoy it.

It is the belief that sits behind everything we make, and weeks like this one matter to us - you can learn more about Learning Disability Week here: https://www.mencap.org.uk/learningdisabilityweek

Here is to a week, and a future, where everyone gets to play. 💙

Ever heard of New Age Kurling? ❄️

It takes the idea of curling off the ice and onto any smooth indoor floor, no ice rink required. Players slide stones across the surface towards a target, and because it can be played seated or standing, everyone can join in on equal terms.

It is brilliant for schools, care homes and community groups: easy to learn, gentle on the body, and good fun once a session gets going.

As the UK home of New Age Kurling, we design and manufacture our own sets, from starter kits through to competition-grade equipment.
