You don’t need to live in the gym to add years to your life. ⬇️⬇️
New research in the British Journal of Sports Medicine tracked over 147,000 people for 30 years and found that just 90 minutes to two hours of strength training per week:
• Lowered the risk of premature death from any cause by 13%
• Lowered the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease by 19%
• Lowered the risk of dying from neurological disease (think dementia) by 27%
The really interesting bit?
More than two hours a week didn’t add any extra benefit.
The sweet spot is surprisingly achievable. One expert described strength training as “a powerful tool, particularly in support of healthy ageing - helping prevent or delay poor health, keeping us mobile and independent.”
Sound familiar? If you’re working with me 1:1 through the Shisei Method, on in Strong Movement Club you’re already doing consistent, well-structured strength work that fits into your life. 💪
No hours of exercising. Just enough, done well. You’re already in a good place. 🙌
