We have a break in the bar billiards season with Dover Road's annual fundraiser for Great Ormond Street taking an important precedence. Each year, we raise very much needed funds for children in need.

The latest update for our singles league in Folkestone.
It's been a bit his and miss with games played (I blame the weather as it's too nice 😂) but one interesting match between Michelle Jenkins and Kevin Hopkins saw the first ever draw with Kevin getting 400 off the last ball into the 200 pocket.

So we have given it a few weeks before we start updating Facebook with our latest league tables.

Our league plays with a maximum 1000 per break which brings the average score down and gives all players a chance.

This week saw some particularly close games with Ken Hart beating Luke Dix with the final ball into the 100 pocket to win by 130 points whilst Gregg Davison beat Karl Field with the final ball into the 200 pocket to win by a narrow 60 points.
Matt Saunders also won a close game against Callum Hart 1330 to 1130.

With the 3rd Folkestone Bar Billiards season now underway, we see a change to the format. Unfortunately, we are down to 11 players in our singles league so only one division.
With no 2nd division singles competition, we will be introducing a two frame knockout.
Our league see's a maximum 1000 break across all competitions but the new comp will be a no limit break.
I know this is normal throughout the bar billiards leagues up and down the country but here in Folkestone, we introduced a break limit to encourage new players to the game.

With the 3rd season of the Folkestone Bar Billiards League over and done with we saw an exciting finish with two competitions being run. Firstly we had Jason Avery winning the Alternative Rules then we saw Ben Riddle and Karl Field winning the new competition of Blind Pairs.
This saw one player from division 1 drawn the one player from division 2.

Division 1 saw Gregg Davison defend his title with Jason Avery a close 2nd.

Division 2 saw Lee Groombridge romp away with the title only losing one game all season.
In what was a close run thing between 4 players, Kev Hopkins finished 2nd.

Division 1 Singles was won by Malcolm Watson who was well chuffed with his trophy beating Matt Saunders in the final.

Division 2 saw Karl Field beat Ken Hart
