The defining characteristic of a warrior is his willingness to engage with the enemy.
Tom was a warrior and part of a dying breed, never letting any injury or illness stop him, I'd never seen anyone ever so naturally good at any sport he tried but at combat sports my brother excelled even when his collar bone was shattered into pieces he was still turning up putting the work in against everyone's advice 🤣.
He never lost a fight, whether Thai boxing,MMA or k1 his training and travels took him all over the world even getting to fight in the home of muay Thai in Thailand and beating the hometown fighters.
There was always a friendly rivalry between us in the gym that pushed us past our limits. Because we always wanted the other one to succeed and be the best they could. Some of my fondest memories are from the gyms we trained at together from the original infinity MMA, deal kickboxing, betteshanger Thai boxing, busters gym, Bears gym and many other places. I remember Tom being such a huge fan of Dan hardy fan after we met him he even gave himself a pink mohawk 🤣,
Tom would go onto becoming a great coach ( I twisted his arm massively when I opened Masons because at the time all he wanted to do was train 🤣) however as usual with my brother he would find a natural talent for this and watching the guys and girls hang onto every word and piece of advice he said always use to mean the world to me. He was the best Thai coach I'd ever seen and his knowledge on the sport was unparalleled. When we was kids wed always spoke about opening our own full time gym up together when we was older and in so glad he got to see the fruits of our labour before we lost him too soon 😔.
He was the best corner man and having him by my side when I fought always made me feel that little bit safer and more prepared.
