🦈💙 PROUD OF OUR MAKOS! 💙🦈

A huge well done to our Fleetwood Makos swimmers who represented the club in the final round of the North Lancs Swim League this weekend.

The results are only part of the story. What made us proud was the determination, resilience and team spirit shown by every swimmer who stepped up and gave their all for the club.

We had swimmers taking on new events, swimming up age groups, stepping in at the last minute and supporting one another from the first race to the final relay. That’s what being part of a team is all about.

We finished the evening in 6th place, but more importantly we finished knowing that every swimmer left everything in the pool and represented Fleetwood with pride.

🦈 GOOD LUCK, FLEETWOOD MAKOS! 🦈

This weekend, our swimmers head to Blackpool for Round 3 of the North Lancs Swim League.

After two fantastic rounds of racing so far, we're excited to see Team Makos back in action, representing Fleetwood with pride, determination and plenty of team spirit.

Swim League is all about teamwork, commitment and supporting one another, and we know our swimmers will do the club proud both in and out of the water.

A huge thank you to our coaches, officials, volunteers and families whose support makes opportunities like this possible.

💙💛 WELL DONE MAKOS! 💛💙

A fantastic day of racing for Fleetwood Makos at the Garstang Gators Medals Gala!

Our swimmers gave it everything in the pool and came away with an amazing set of results:

🥉 3 Bronze medals
🥈 3 Silver medals
🥇 10 Gold medals
🔥 61 PBs

A huge well done to every swimmer who raced — whether you achieved a PB, won a medal, took on a new event or simply gave your best on the day, we are incredibly proud of you all.

A special shout out to our brilliant 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team — Logan, Rory, Alfie and Jack — who won their heat with style and finished the day with real Makos team spirit.

Thank you to the Garstang Gators team for hosting such a great gala, and to all the officials, marshals, timekeepers, volunteers and poolside teams who helped make the day possible. Events like this only happen because so many people give their time to support young swimmers.

Well done to all clubs and swimmers involved — a brilliant day for the sport.

Wishing all our Fleetwood Makos swimmers the very best of luck as they head to the Garstang Gators Medals Gala this weekend.

We’re looking forward to seeing our swimmers race hard, support each other and enjoy being part of the team. For some, it will be another chance to chase PBs and medals; for others, it may be about gaining more racing experience and building confidence — and all of it matters.

A big thank you, as always, to our coaches, team managers, chaperones, officials, volunteers and families who help make competition days possible. These events rely on so many people giving their time, and we really appreciate everyone involved.

Swim fast, race hard, cheer loud and enjoy every moment.

This National Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to every single person who gives their time, energy and support to Fleetwood Makos.

From our coaches, committee members and poolside helpers, to our officials, timekeepers, chaperones, team managers and all the behind-the-scenes support — our club simply wouldn’t run without you.

Every training session, gala, team event and special moment in the pool is made possible because people step up, give their time and help create the brilliant Mako community we’re so proud of.

You are the heart of our club, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

🏊‍♂️🦈 WHAT A DAY FOR THE MAKOS! 🦈🏊‍♀️

A huge well done to all of our swimmers who competed at the Wigan Summer Sizzler on Sunday!

The results speak for themselves:

🥇 7 Gold Medals
🥈 10 Silver Medals
🥉 3 Bronze Medals
⚡ 71 Personal Bests

But as always, the numbers only tell part of the story.

We saw swimmers taking on new events, racing outside their comfort zones, achieving PBs, supporting teammates, and representing Fleetwood Makos with pride both in and out of the pool. Whether you came home with a medal, a PB, or simply more experience, every swimmer played their part in making it a fantastic day for the club.

A big thank you to our poolside team for their support throughout the day, to our coaches, official and volunteers who help make licensed competitions possible, and to all of our parents and families for the early start, long day and endless encouragement from the poolside.

We'd also like to extend our sincere thanks to Wigan Swimming Club for hosting another excellent meet. Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the huge team of volunteers, officials, timekeepers, recorders, marshals and support staff working behind the scenes. Thank you to everyone involved in organising and delivering a fantastic competition and providing swimmers with the opportunity to race, compete and create lasting memories in the pool.
