Starry Nights Baby Sleep

Starry Nights Baby Sleep Helping first time Mum’s reclaim their sleep Hey, I’m Beth, welcome! I can’t wait to meet and support you through your sleep journey.

I've been supporting at-the-end-of-their-wits new Mum's get baby into their sleep groove, so the whole family can enjoy those magic moments that make up baby's first year.

Being a first time Mum should be a beautiful, cherished experience but obsessive late night Googling "baby sleep habits and schedule" and praying for "please, please sleep" can certainly take the shine off it. I love helping f

irst time Mum’s because I love seeing how sleep makes a happy family who can enjoy time together and as importantly... being able to have an evening with your partner to eat a hot meal with 2 hands!

There is a myth that New Mum's have to put up with bad sleep and zombie like state that comes with it - it doesn't have to be this way.

Having experienced with my own baby's sleep, from the 2 hourly night wakes and 33 minute naps and not a single minute longer, I discovered how I could help him to independently settle, and I realised I had to share how, far and wide. It breaks my heart to know that NCT groups, Prenatal appointments and Health Visitor checks do not prepare you for what’s to come with sleep and how sometimes this can really impact your mental health.

You deserve to feel more energised, at ease and have time with your partner and for yourSELF.

You may be thinking I’m scared I can’t do this…

Yes you CAN nail this whole sleep thing and turn your waking nightmare into a sleeping dream, and I will show you how.

Thinking you want to make a change?

There is no need to feel guilty for wanting to make a change, no one knows your situation, and your baby better than you. Beth x

Bedtime routines needn’t be long, somewhere between 30-40 minutes as we all know how they can feel rushed after nursery.

Does your little one love a bath? 🛁🧼

Ps some little ones may not bath every night due to being newborn, skin conditions or just not enough time, that’s ok it doesn’t need to be every night x

brings top tips when it comes to sleep from to help reduce those symptoms overnight.

Like me and my little one, hay fever in our house in particular can disrupt sleep and making sure we sleep in a cooler room and turn back the bedding each day has really helped.

Do you or your little one suffer from allergies?

🌸⏰ Clocks Spring Forward this weekend.

My favourite ways to approach this clock change are

1. Do nothing!

Yes you read right. Getting up at your new current wake up time is a perfect way to help your little one reset if they are an early riser.

2. Split the difference

From Sunday make nap time and bedtime 30 mins earlier than normal time for 3 days and adjust back.

Are you currently or about to navigate a nap transition?

Be that 3-2 naps or 2-1?

Be prepped with all you need to know to seamlessly make the transition, including the answer to a very commonly asked question

‘How on earth do I get to a 9.30am nap having been awake since 5am?!’ ➡️ Number 2 ☝🏻

Are you approaching or going through a nap transition?

Which do you go by when putting your little one down for a nap?

Let me know in the comments 👇🏻

Often it’s a combination of both, yet if I had to choose 1, it would always be B, the clock.

We can sometimes miss cues or for very stimulating babies who have FOMO they often don’t show the cues.

For a guide on wake windows

❤️1 month - 60 mins
🧡2 months - 1 hour 15 mins
💛3 months - 1 hour 30 mins
💚4 months - 1 hour 45 mins
💙5 months - 2 hours
💜6 months - 2 hours 15 mins
🤍7 months - 2 hours 30 minutes
🤎8 months plus - fixed nap times

Are you out later than normal bedtime this Christmas?

And not sure how to navigate the later bedtime?

Every now and then a later bedtime won’t necessarily mean you un-do all things sleep

You can…

🎄A longer nap in the day, if they will

🎅🏻An extra cat nap in the car on the way

🔔Take pjs and a nappy to change into on your journey home so if they fall asleep, a transition into bed… if they wake up… a small routine, story, song and into bed

What Christmas lights or festivities are you heading out to this year? 👇🏻

It’s true. You cannot force a sleep.

Its really hard when your little one will not fall asleep when you put them down.

We can however help sleep by offering a perfect opportunity by looking at

📚wind down just before by reading together

🌑 a dark space, their room with , the room you are in, or a whilst on the go to keep it non stimulating

📣 a quiet space with white noise, helpful for daytime sleep with the delivery drivers ringing the doorbell

⏰ a well timed nap appropriate for their age, check out Beth Hawkins] for my free nap download

And if naps have been short or non existent offer an earlier bedtime to take the edge off.

Does your little one fall asleep easily or just not want to sleep? 👇🏻
