It’s the lads final game of the season this morning. For our own amusement, we’ve all picked random positions out of a hat for today’s game and there are some very funny ones. Kick-off sometime between 10:15 and 10:30 against second placed HUSC. This will be a funny one, get along to watch and laugh!

An exciting game for the neutral this morning, as we faced off against Cleveland in a friendly.

With only 12 lads available we all put in a great shift 💪

Shoutout to young Archie Hodgson who made his first start for the club today at only 16, scoring two fantastic goals and running non stop for 90 minutes 👏

MOTM today could have gone to anyone really but ultimately Kurt won the vote, another fantastic shift today 👊

For some strange reason, this mornings home friendly against Cleveland AFC is still going ahead despite my goalmouth being completely underwater. If your really bored on this lovely Sunday morning and want to watch 22 idiots play a midseason friendly in the pi***ng rain, please feel free to come down and cheer the lads on as we will need all the motivation that we can get 💪👊

FISHBURN HAVE WON A GAME OF FOOTBALL‼️

Full-time: The Owl 0-1 Fishburn 🔴🟡

An outstanding team performance this morning, as we picked up our first three points since the first game of the season back in August, against 4th place The Owl!

A very even first half, with both sides having numerous chances. Jack Kell coming the closest for us, forcing their keeper to a good save.

We went into the break 0-0, knowing that we could get something out of it 🤔

The beginning of the second half started the same, with both sides having a fair few chances.

The game stopped for a good few minutes, after a bad injury to an Owl player following a 50/50 challenge. We have since learned that he’s broken his Tibia and Fibia so all of us at Fishburn wish the lad well with his recovery 💪

We began after the stoppage quickly, knowing that we could nick something. Then….up steps Danny Wakes. After a scrappy few seconds in the box, Stephen Hall set the ball back for Danny who caressed it from the edge of the area to send the tens of visiting fans wild 🤩

The lads dug deep to keep the hosts from levelling up, with Hally and Bowmer at the back heading away everything in sight along with Linesy in goal pulling off a worldie save in the dying seconds to keep out a volley from point blank range 🧤

Shoutout to Shane ‘Boom’ Bowmer, because he asked for one.

A fantastic team effort, earning the three points we’ve been after for so long 💪

MOTM - Jake Everson 🏅: His best performance yet in the red and yellow, worked his arse off this morning 💪

Today’s trip was over to Grayfields to play our good friends Stag & Monkey f.c in the Hartlepool Sunday Football League.

We knew it would be a tough game as Stag are always up for it, and with a bare 11 AGAIN🤬 not to mention an injured goalkeeper and cb, we knew it would be a tough encounter. Then to top it off we sustained a pulled hamstring in the first 10 minutes, which meant we had 8.5 players on the pitch 😳

Both teams battled hard and we dug in, creating chances, whilst Stag not taking there’s, did help. However, it took until 40 minutes and the lads conceded that dreaded pre match half time goal . 1-0 Stag at the break.

We came out and conceded another early goal when Stag doubled their lead. 2-0 Stag. We kept creating chances and played some excellent football, but just couldn’t score. We battled on and were denied yet another clear penalty 🤬🤬. Stag then went and scored their third to make it 3-0 at 70 ish minutes. We carried on and should have scored a couple, but it just didn’t fall. That was until Matt scored a consolation goal at around 80 minutes. We kept pushing, but yet again it wasn’t to be.

Today we definitely deserved something and with another couple of lads we probably would have. The fight and desire was there and arguably, we were the better team for the majority. But this is grassroots football 😳

Despite that, it’s always a great game against the Stag and they are top lads, always a pleasure lads 🫡
