We welcomed Block 2 of the After School Sailing Club for Forres Academy, Moray pupils this afternoon 😀 They did really well in the conditions, managing to sail and achieve a figure of 8 course - pretty good going for the 1st session!
Huge thanks to Berry Burn Community Fund, Sportscotland, RYA Scotland and Moray Council for the funding for this activity and to Active Schools and Community Sport Moray for their help.in making these sessions happen 🙏🙏

Our Saltwater Scholars programme for home educated children is running on Monday and Friday mornings, providing all sorts of benefits!
Time on the water is always good for mental well-being, raising awareness of the environment, as well as building resilience in the young people. We do include RYA certificates in the training, as well as RYA OnBoard which focusses on independence, confidence, teamwork, communication, creativity and determination. The sessions last for 3 hours and cost £36 per child and these sessions will be running until 5th October. The cost includes wetsuits, spray tops and buoyancy aids as well as a steady supply of hot chocolate! To find out more, drop us an email to [email protected].

It has been a busy weekend for the Findhorn Watersports staff team - we have been spread over 3 venues 💪💪
Oscar and Bean held the fort in Findhorn, with Ealish and Isaac over in Nairn, whilst Jane was up in Orkney. Training took place across a range of new sailors to potential dinghy instructors. Thankfully the weather improved for today, allowing us all to get out on the water 😎⛵️
Back to normal tomorrow though with everyone back at base for Saltwater Scholars!

We said farewell to the 1st block of the Forres Academy, Moray After School Sailing Club. After 4 weeks of coming to Findhorn Watersports & Water Taxi, and despite some challenging weather, they left with new skills, new friends and big smiles!
Meanwhile the Marine Academy got stuck into learning about navigation, and full credit to them for giving this learning a good go!💪 We noticed their eyes straying to the action on the water on a few occasions!
We look forward to meeting the Block 2 sailors next Friday 😁
