Another great day for the club with both teams getting the win. First team travelled to Wearmouth and after putting a huge total on with both openers bringing up tons the lads bowled Wearmouth out for 86 winning by 257runs.

The seconds hosted Murton and after another good bowling performance from the lads restricting Murton to 80 ao the lads knocked it off with plenty overs to spare.

Only the one game tonight with the 2nds being called off due to the weather. First team travelled to Silksworth and after a good bowling performance restricting the hosts to 91-9 the firsts managed to knock the score off 4 down. Into the hat for the next round.🎩

Fantastic day for the club yesterday with two big wins. 1st team brought home 25 points after a spinning masterclass from Hoops and Tom left Mainsforth 112 to chase up at Bill Quay with Chris and Alex seeing the lads home.

2nds hosted Ushaw Moor down at Mainsforth and another loss at the toss from skipper Jow Mainsforth posted 175/8 with some vital knocks coming from Phil, Adam and the prime minister. Very good bowling display from all saw Ushaw Moor fall short of the target.

Busy week ahead for the first team as they travel to Silksworth Tuesday and Friday. Then to finish the week off the first team host Silksworth Saturday. Second team host Evenwood at home Tuesday and then have the weekend off with another free week Saturday. Team news coming soon.

WORLD CUP 2026 SWEEPSTAKE ⚽️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Mainsforth Cricket Club will be running a sweep stake this year for the upcoming World Cup.

It is £10 per team to enter and the prizes are as follows:

£200 winner
£100 runner up
£50 third
£25 fourth

There is also going to be bonus prizes up for grabs 🍻🍻🍻🍻

3 pint checks - first team to score a penalty
3 pint checks - first team to miss a penalty
3 pint checks - first team to receive a red card

Please comment or see us at the club to secure a team (or 2 🙏) Teams will be picked at random , once all are sold and paid for (video of this will be uploaded) Please share with family & friends as we need to sell all 48 teams to make this happen. Thank you for supporting the club, as always 💚💚
