Ironically when you're a Fitness Coach, while it's easy to get plenty of exercise, it can prove tricky to maintain a regular strucured training plan of your own. So, taking current coaching commitments into account, I thought I'd map one out for myself.

Inevitably it'll need to flex and move as commitments change, but for now, it looks like this... I think of it as my "Ready For Anything Fitness" programme 💪🔥

MONDAY
Light Circuits

TUESDAY
KB/DB Strength/HIIT

WEDNESDAY
Rucking/Hiking/Mountain Biking
or
Cardio/Boxing Training/Bag Work

THURSDAY
Light Circuits [afternoon]
and
Boot Camp/Functional Fitness [evening]

FRIDAY
Ad-Hoc Tuning/Calibration [addressing any weekly activity gaps or imbalances, including additional recovery if needed]

SATURDAY
Focused Strength Training

SUNDAY
Recovery/Mobility

In fairness to myself I probably do much of this without thinking about it too much, but for optimum results any programme benefits from a written-down structure that fits with everyday life, personal preferences and goals.

I often hear people say they don't have time for exercise, and I call bu****it. What they really mean is, exercise isn't a priority. Yet the same people will typically spend hours a day literally giving away their lives to a mobile phone. And the unfortunate truth is, not only are they wasting what life they have in the present, they're also heading for poor quality of life in the future.

I had ten minutes between some pottering today so I had a snack. An exercise snack. It went like this;

- set a 2-minute interval timer for 5 rounds
- grab 2 dumbbells
- every 2 minutes perform the following without dropping them; 12 x deep dumbbell squats 9 x cleans 6 x overhead presses

Only 10 minutes and I'd got most of the big muscle groups buzzing along with a bit of cardio for good measure.

Ten minutes.

Don't tell me you don't have time for exercise. Make it a priority and stay healthy ♥️

Quick BP check today... I'm happy with those numbers. Too many people quit because they expect things to happen too fast and the fitness industry is its own worst enemy in this regard. Promises of "get fit quick" and "lose weight fast"? All bu****it.

Don't be set up to fail by expecting seismic transformation overnight. Instead, celebrate every win no matter how small - for example;
- losing a pound or two
- dropping a clothes size
- lifting a bit more than last time
- getting one more rep
- covering slightly more distance
- an exercise feeling a little easier
- doing something new
- sleeping better
- feeling a little more energetic
- looking better
- feeling better

It's small but regular improvements like these that add up to make the biggest difference. Be patient, trust in the program, and stay healthy 💪♥️

Six years. That's how long most people are likely to spend on social media in their lifetime. The widely accepted statistics are as follows:

2.5 hours per day global average, or
38 days [well over a month!] per year, or
6 years of life [assuming you got a phone at 15 and live until 75]

6 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE, GONE!

Taken by social media corporations so they can generate revenue profits from advertising.

Now let that sink in then ask yourself, what would you give for an extra six years of life? Because looking after yourself [ie regular exercise and eating well] can ADD years to your life, and certainly adds QUALITY of life.

So put the phone down, get active, and live healthier for longer ❤️
