Yesterday we had a very exciting meeting with the board at Bournemouth Electric FC with a view to assist them in starting up the women's side of their large and successful football club. I have felt HUGE guilt in putting myself first and calling a pause to things here at Grange, knowing the direct impact that would have on my players and the local football opportunities for women generally. So this has been an amazing opportunity for me to be able to pay forward the knowledge we have built over the last 6 years while providing another place for our players that want to, to keep playing together as a team and evolving with others to create what I am sure will be a fantastic women's squad right at the heart of the BCP region ⚽️

Try as they might I have not been convinced to carry on in such a "full time" role! So there will be opportunities for coaches/managers to get on board, being supported by a great set up. Initially I will be assisting as much as I can and so any new players or people interested can contact me through this page or message/call me direct on 07940454145. This is a brilliant opportunity for those looking for a new club, or looking to start their football journey, to be a part of something fantastic from the very start ❤️

I am absolutely blown away by the outpouring of support, kindness, understanding and appreciation shown from the local football community following from my post yesterday. The messages and calls I have received have been incredibly touching.. what a fantastic ladies football community we have been privileged to be a part of and it makes me incredibly proud to know how highly we are thought of 🥰 Those who have been trying to convince us to carry on.. watch this space 😉 we have had amazing people reaching out to ensure our fab ladies can keep playing football while I still get to refocus myself on other equally demanding things.. as much as I'm allowed!! Grange is definitely going for a long nap but perhaps there will be an evolving rather than a pausing for our ladies, that I will do all I can to help with.. either way the reaction to my post has just been something else. From other managers, players, refs, league reps and supporters - I can not thank you all enough ❤️

Against so much of what I feel I "should" be doing, I have made the exceptionally hard decision to pause proceedings at Grange Ladies FC. It was pushing 2 years ago I first started considering having some help to run things and unfortunately the right person just never came along. Instead we put our absolute all into last season, smashing the league and winning the title undefeated. If anything proves what we can do at this club, with no other coach/lino/goalkeeper.. winging things with just a huge belief from me in my players and their belief in me in return, then last season certainly did that ❤️

The small step back I took at the start of this season turned into a huge step back for reasons entirely not to do with football and the knock on effect, despite a huge effort from the ladies, is that without a stable leadership things are just too tricky to pull off. We have 20ish amazing ladies who I know will be fantastic players for other teams if they choose, to keep playing together in a more casual way if they choose or to just keep meeting up for beers and good times as has always been a huge part of our club ❤️

So from me to every single player I've coached over the last 6 years, thank you for being part of our journey to date. Myself and Cachey have weekend plans that involves Bishy's endless skiing obsession, trips away on a whim and doing whatever else it is people do on Sunday afternoons! To the ladies who have stuck by this club no matter what, you are our people - thank you guys the absolute most ❤️

Some day.. I am sure we will be back ❤️

Yesterday we got our season started after a slight delay thanks to the lovely committee at HCWFL. We knew it would be a tough task facing a young and organised Wi******er side with no fewer than 9 players making their Grange debut!! Our new back line struggled to contain the Wi******er attack but everyone had a brilliant time and we scored 3 well taken goals to show even if one end is getting a bit battered you can still get up the other end and score 👏

Sadly we still haven't been able to find more managerial help so the team was put together yesterday by my amazing tiny helper TB and our super captain Becca! Here are Becca's words to the team after the all important post match pub trip yesterday evening which I did manage to pop along to, just to check moral was high of course! ⚽️

"Well what a fantastic team effort to start off our season as a brand new team!! We got things under way in the first half, unfortunately conceding a few early goals, however, every single person on the field kept their heads up and continued working hard! We then had fabulous goals from Nat and Soph’s which were well deserved and brilliantly taken! Second half, we continued to concede some brilliantly taken goals by Wi******er and unfortunately they were finishing off the game! Not before, Sylvia netted home a cracker to give The Grange 3!!! Despite the result, everyone worked solidly for 90 minutes and gave it their all! You can’t ask for more than that!! I was proud to captain a hardworking, passionate and determined team today!

Every game we will continue to grow and develop as a team and that is exciting!!! Up The Grange ❤️❤️!!"

We've had an incredible recruitment drive and have 21 amazing players ready to get our season going however we still need a manager/coach due to my very much needed retirement (semi atleast please 🙏).

We are looking for someone available Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings (does not have to be every week) who has a good football brain and is willing to adopt our laid back, fun, inclusive and ultimately successful way of doing things ⚽️

We could also do with a goal keeper! We won the league last season basically without one.. but it really would be handy to have one this season 🤣

I'm waiting for two surgeries, I've got two in season holidays booked, my son has got two hobbies that often take up our weekends and I really want to use the caravan I bought two months ago. I'm a whole noahs ark of reasons why we need someone to come on board and work alongside our lovely Dari, to steer the Grange ship this season. The grim reality is that without someone else coming on board who gets football and also appreciates how this club is different to most, then we may well find ourselves in a situation where I just have to put myself first and our amazing ladies carry on in a slightly different set up until that person is found.

Please help me to help them play league football this season before we consider various alternatives ⚽️

P.S - training this eve and we've a few lovely new people coming along so a great time to come and give us a try (especially if you come with a coach in tow 🤣) 💟🖤💟

Last huge push to recruit to get our season going ⚽️ We have the bulk of our incredible title winning squad raring to go and have recently welcomed some lovely new faces! But we really need a few more players to complete our upcoming fixtures and ensure our inclusive, supportive and laid back womens football club continues to thrive 🙏

I am also still seeking another pair of hands to help with the managing/coaching side! Never did I think it would be so hard to find level heading, football smart volunteers to give up a few hours a week 🙈 Please if anyone thinks they could assist, ping us a message 🙌

Have you watched the world cup and found yourself coaching from the sofa?! If so we want you! I'm still searching for another coach/manager to come on board and help steer this ship through the coming season while I take a much needed back seat. After 6 years single handedly dealing with all the highs and lows of running a ladies football team it is time I put myself, my health and my family first.

We have an incredible group of players and are always actively seeking new recruits to come and join us. Perhaps you play but would like to take up more of a coaching role so could have the best of both worlds! All that is needed is free time on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings, a good football brain and the ability to see the bigger picture when things don't always go to plan. We've always been a club able to unite and move forward ~ might you be the person to embrace that this coming season? 💟🖤💟

Due to impending operations putting me out of action physically for large chunks of time and a son who's ski obsession needs me more present over winter, I'm looking for another leader to come on board, more so in a managerial role for Sunday afternoons over the season. Opportunity naturally to do some coaching on Tuesday eves too but the main priority is someone who has an eye for the game and can make in game decisions to achieve the best results we can do on match days.

Last season we won the league despite me having no real control of these ladies whatsoever! But they are an incredibly talented bunch and go into the new season up into division 4 of the Hampshire County Women's League full of confidence. I've absolutely no doubts that we can keep this momentum and build on last seasons success over the coming year. It would be amazing to have someone come on board to help this tight knit squad continue to achieve ⚽️

We are also still recruiting players for the coming season. We could particularly do with a keeper as our lovely Cookie is often working and last season we played over half our matches with no keeper! We are looking for experienced players for all positions to sure up our squad plus of course open to those less experienced or even brand new who want to come and get involved 🥰

Coach/Assistant Manager Wanted 🙌

After an incredible title winning season we are seeking someone to come and help us push on as we look ahead at the 2023/2024 season in Hampshire County Women's League Div 4! This is a role which could either suit anyone or no one I'm not entirely sure 🤣

We are looking for someone who understands how to work with a group of women playing football for each other. This group give 100% for each other, they are a super strong unit who champion each other to succeed. It works and I don't want to change it. I'm after someone who can come in with coaching ideas and progressive plans and who has a decent football brain but not someone who wants to come and shake things up too much! Shouty angry coaches who spoon feed every pass and movement during matches bring me out in hives. As do ones who give refs abuse. This is grassroots football, we are mostly about 30 and half the time hungover, we are there for the laughs and the friendship. Winning games seems to roll off the back of that so someone who buys into our ethos is essential ⚽️

You won't get a fancy title. You'll probably end up with some god awful nick name and have the p1ss taken out of you 24/7 but I can guarantee you will have an amazing time with a group of absolute legends. We are not needing someone to give up their entire lives, only if you wanted, but ideally someone around fortnightly for coaching on Tuesdays (in West Moors) and to cover some matches on Sunday afternoons (home in Christchurch and some Hants area games) through the season September - April ish! You don't need to be FA qualified but we can help you achieve those things if you wanted 😏

On Saturday we had our presentation night and basically I have only just fully recovered in order to write this post 🤢🍻 This season's presentation night was always going to be something quite special considering the year we have had and all that has been achieved and it is fair to say we absolutely nailed it! Perhaps helped by a large portion of the night being all inclusive prosecco and cocktails. On the whole, what happened at presentation night stays at presentation night 🤣 But I can share with you our special award winners 🏆

Most Improved - Our header Queen, Sharna 😍 Sharna joined us a year ago with no idea what so ever that she's actually an incredibly talented football player who's absolutely bossed our back line this season.. often with her head alone! Her progress over the year has been immense so a very well deserved award and we are excited for more of the same next season 👏

Top Goalscorer - Our super striker, my very own Cash 😏 We have lost track of how many years in a row she's got this award which just goes to show she's really very super at popping the ball in the goal. I must also mention how many goals she set up this year which though I didn't keep count was equally as impressive. Well done Cachey for the goals but also for always keeping my s**t together for me 🤣❤️

Players Players - These players were voted for by almost every squad member and tied on votes so deserved to both get this award. It really has shown the squad mentality that we now have here when our captain fantastic wins the award for being exactly that but when also someone who had never played before joining us a year ago and then has come off the bench, learning as she goes, and given her all also wins the award. Laura has championed and encouraged everyone for the full 90 minutes of every game so rightly wins players player 👌 NotSue has turned up and sometimes been happy to not even get on the pitch just so long as the team are doing well (and so long as Grange is always a safe space 🤣) hence why she absolutely deserves to also be players player. What a couple of heroes 🫶

Managers Player - This was easy peasy for me to choose this year. Our lovely TB Sophie who sometimes tries to skip the country but aside from that she gives 110% to this club, always offers to help me out and honestly without her micro human tiny boy ways then Grange would not be such an awesome place for us all to hang out 🤸‍♂️💙

It's fair to say that this entire squad were deserving of their trophies and ultimately they could all have got special awards because I've never seen a squad of players give as much as this lot have done this past year ⚽️
