Harry's next meeting and he has scaped his way on to the back of the grid for LCQ 2. Northampton Shaleway with Spedeworth Motorsports this weekend Saturday and Sunday.

A night of up's and down's at Mildenhall Stadium for Owen Hawes in his Spedeworth Junior Micra Stock Cars.

The engine starting gremlins hit in the stars of the future series final after earning 7th on the grid and could not start the race.

No f***ing about in heat 1 starting off the front of the yellows. He dropped the hammer and was faultless through out the race taking his first race win and never really looked troubled.

In Heat 2 he had to start at the back of his grid after winning the previous race. He started strong and was making moves through the pack and was up to 4th when he got turned out. He got back on the pace and come back to get in the points.

A night of bad luck and some great racing was rounded off with a massive puddle of oil on the trailer such fun.

So glad these 2 are starting saloons at the same time George Kent and Harry Hawes. We didn't think we would manage it on time but we did it many thanks to Kevin Wickham KW race photos for the action shots

So then, what a day yesterday started early with Harry registering for college, we got some funny looks driving around campus with the stockcar. We then headed up to skegness for some much needed tarmac practice. We have not the car 3 weeks yet and raced 2 of those weekends so practice has not been priority. Thankfully he has had a couple of sessions in the 474 car thanks Michael Kent for that.

Practice went well getting up to the pace of some of the other drivers and learning his lines. Due to a lack of tyre's we could not do as much as we would have liked , also i have no idea what I am doing so wasn't making any changes.

Heat 1 was always going to be difficult learning the new track and how the race's start. Not a terrible start to the race he then got caught up with another driver, and came out in last place he then made steady progress back up through the pack picking up 10th on the last bend.

Heat 2 started in a bit of a shambles with the yellow grade being a little keen. Once thing's settled Harry was back in the pack and had to fight for every spot coming back through to take 4th over the line. He was then promoted to 2nd after the 2 yellow grade drivers that finished 1st and 2nd got docked for the jump start.

In the final he made a good start and got away with another white. They ticked off a few laps together until a very fast Millie Kent caught and dispatched of them. They both stuck with each other to the end of the race when Harry made a move in the last corner and won the race to the line. He picked up another 2nd and best white top for the night. Well done Millie on her first final win.

Hopefully the next meeting will be at Northampton if our booking is approved.

We have a first adult trophy for Harry getting 2nd in his first tarmac final on tarmac. He has only had the car 3 weeks.
