❤️🤍 WE’RE BACK! THE SEASON HAS STARTED! 🤍❤️
And what a weekend to kick things off! 🏑
It was fantastic to see so much of our Hockey Family back together, players, coaches, volunteers, umpires and, of course, the brilliant supporters who came along to cheer us on. ❤️
A few words from our Chairman, Kev Beckett:
“Since our AGM I have witnessed a mammoth effort behind the scenes to get Felixstowe Hockey Club ready for another season. Many thanks to our coaching & umpiring team, club & team captains and, of course, our committee, none of this is possible without you.
I’m looking forward to what has the potential to be an exciting season with lots of opportunities. The first week is out of the way, so let the nerves settle, work hard, play hard. ”
And the teams certainly got us started!
🔥 Ladies 1s a brilliant 4-goal win away at Framlingham, great teamwork, great defence, great work!
💪 Men’s 3s a hard-working performance against Norwich Dragons. The 1–5 scoreline didn’t tell the story of their effort, with some 4s stepping up and gaining valuable experience.
🏑 Men’s 1s a tough opening against Peterborough. After going 1–0 up, they eventually went down 1–4, but there were plenty of positives and some fantastic hockey to build on.
🚗 Men’s 2s — on the road at Norwich, with some 3s stepping up to support. The team is starting to gel nicely and there’s plenty to take forward.
⚡ Ladies 2s — THE THUNDER! 🌩️ They took the storm to Ipswich and certainly made a statement with a fantastic start to the season. One to watch! 👀
❤️ Ladies 3s — a great game against IES 3s, with our experienced players once again helping our younger players. A few set pieces for training 😉, but lots of positives despite a two-goal defeat.
And that’s week one done!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who makes FHC happen, players, umpires, coaches, captains, supporters, volunteers, committee, bar team, photographers, videographers and all those working behind the scenes.
The nerves can settle. The season is here.
