Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club

Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club FFSC is a friendly, family sailing club at the mouth of the River Deben that embraces dinghy sailing, yachting and an RYA approved teaching centre.

Learn to sail, race, cruise, row. Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club is a family friendly club. The clubhouse with great views of the river Deben and has great facilities for its members and visiting yachtsmen. Facilities include, dinghy storage, engine / outboard storage, inflatable storage, changing rooms with 24hr access for members

cruising, racing

Felixstowe Ferry Youth Sailing is the youth section of FFSC. Around 60 children between the ages of 11 and 18 meet up on Saturday mornings to learn how to sail dinghies in an enjoyable and challenging yet safe environment. The team also organise fun activities including water-based barbecues and sail-always. Social events throughout the year for members and their guests. These include BBQ’s, Band Nights and festive parties!

Visiting Yachtsmen

By arrangement, Richard Peats and three others arrived in two Wayfarers on the early evening of Tuesday 16th June, leaving their boats moored and camping on the Millennium Green. Had left Brightlingsea at 05.00 hours so in need of a shower, refreshment and a good night's sleep. FFSC provided the showers, the FBI sustenance and after the sleep they set off on Wednesday upstream to Woodbridge, stopping at the Maybush for a pint on the return.

What's better is that they fielded one of their Wayfarers in Wednesday night's Club race and enjoyed supper in the Club afterwards. On Thursday they set off for Aldeburgh, hoping to make it all the way up to Snape bridge.
