It’s assessment weekend at Sengoku! 🥊🥋

We can hardly believe three months have passed already. The progress across our Samurai, karate, kickboxing, and boxing classes has been brilliant to watch, and we’re so proud of the dedication everyone puts into their training.

One of the best things about karate is the community that comes with it. You’re building strength and fitness, but you’re also pairing up, learning together, and having a laugh along the way. It’s a great way to take some time out for yourself while training with an awesome group of people.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 KANZAN CUP – DUNDEE, SCOTLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a weekend for Team Sengoku! ❤️🖤💛

A team of nine travelled up to Scotland to compete at the Kanzan Cup, proudly representing Sengoku Martial Arts as part of the wider GB Kenshin Karate Organisation - KKO Squad.

This team continues to impress every time they step onto the mats but what people don’t always see are what happens behind the scenes.

The hours of training
The repetition.
The development of muscle memory.
Listening to feedback and then putting it into practice.
The disappointments and tears.

There have been times during their journeys when things haven’t gone their way. The medals weren’t always there and sometimes they didn’t make it beyond the early rounds. But each time, they regrouped, learned from the experience and came back ready to try again.

Now they’re reaping the rewards of that determination and resilience! 💪

We’ve also come away knowing exactly what we need to work on. There are still improvements to be made, and we’ll be stepping up the training in preparation for the European Championships in Sheffield this October.

There’s plenty more to come from this team!

A huge well done to everyone who competed, and thank you to the coaches Brian Hall and Hayley Just, teammates and especially the families who sacrifice so much for their children to be able to pursue their passion. Thanks also for being on hand to ensure everyone was where they needed to be.
