A terrific end to pre season!

Took on Nostell Reserves from Yorkshire Championship and stormed into a 4 goal lead!

Absorbed some pressure in the first half and killed nostell on the break to go into half time 3 up

A Jamie Rollinson header killed the game in the second half - couple of knocks and injuries saw the kids enter the field to see out the result against all odds as nostell come on strong towards the end of the game while the lads were walking wounded

Here’s how we go for our final pre season fixture!!

Been a great few weeks thus far, lads will be hoping for one final performance ahead of the season proper!

Not quite at home - we’re playing at De Lacy Academy on the 3G surface, 2pm the kick off

New year same scoreline at Savile!

More good minutes in the legs for the lads, back and forth in the first half, we should have put the game to bed in the second half with 4 or 5 clear cut chances coming and going before Savile inevitably equalised from the spot

5 left on the clock Dec Walker squared for Stan Taylor to score the winner - his first goal in senior football!

Plenty of standouts including Andy Burton at left back 👀 and the 2 centre halves Neil Pickersgill & Jamie Rollinson with Jamie just doing enough to take the MOM

Back in action today, thankfully after yet another last minute cancellation Savile United from the Yorkshire league have stepped in!

We met last pre season, a game which saw the Colls come out the 3-2 victors so we will know to expect a tight battle!

Good minutes in the legs for the lads against a top Yorkshire Amateur side from the Supreme Division who start their season on Wednesday while we are just starting pre season!

Was meant to be the 3rds so not sure what happened there 👀

Fantastic times for the club with 8 of the starting 11 at the end of the game younger than 20 and many having their first taste of men’s football!

We are back out tomorrow with a young side making the trip over to South Leeds to take on one of their reserve sides (potentially another 3 debutants!)

We’ll be looking to build on a fantastic performance last time out

Oh it’s good to be back!

Big thanks to Fev Rovers for opting to host us last minute after our original opponents dropped out!

A plethora of options for the Colls today with debutants, juniors making the step up for the first time and lads returning from long term lay offs - fantastic to see Sonny Law back in a match day squad!

The lads have been out the last few weeks as pre-season is well underway with fixtures starting next week
