It all went wrong in our final away game of 2016 and we lose ground at the top of the table. We were unable to break through for 89 minutes and then disaster struck when Nick Viergever got tangled up in his own feet, fell over and handled the ball to give away a penalty. Klitch converted to the delight of the home support and our defender saw red so will miss the PSV game next week. Peter Bosz was really pi**ed off and it made a change to see him so animated on the sidelines, Im guessing he will have given the team a kicking in the changing room. Still, we have been on a good run so lets move on to this weekends big game and put our title rivals to the sword.

Looks like Justin Kluivert may get his Eredivisie debut today against F.C.Twente. Seen him once a he looks ok, best of luck fella, big shoes to fill with the name Kluivert on the back of your shirt. I have Fat Bastard on the back of my shirt when I play so that expectations dont get raised.

As we had already won the group comfortably Peter Bosz once again gave several of the youngsters a chance to experience a European away game and they did not disappoint. For me De Ligt was the stand out performer with some excellent tackles and positional play and he made the superb pass to El Ghazi whos first touch and shot for the goal was exceptional. Van de Beek also had a fine game running the midfield and some of these lads are now really pushing for first team places.We should have scored a second and several good chances were missed once again mostly by El Ghazi who continues to be one of the most frustrating players I have ever seen, one minute brilliant then next a total goon diving about trying to claim fouls whenever a defender comes anywhere near him.
The sucker punch came just a few minutes before the end when a cross from the right was headed home as Boer could only palm the ball into the net. Standard could have won the game with a last gasp final chance and the lesson for our youngsters will be you must take your chances and kill off the opposition. A very young team doing well in Europe....sounds good.

Another win and a goal for Sanchez, so I didnt jinx him after all. Fairly comfortable and we were even able to miss a second penalty after a blatant dive by the reinstated El Ghazi who made an apperance as a sub folllowing his exile to Jong Ajax.
One player who has steadily improved this season and secured a position under Bosz is Nick Viergever who deserves a mention for some good consistant performances, I never would have thought when he arrived he would be a regular first team starter so it goes to show what hard work can achieve, well done fella.

Saw my good mate Micha last weekend and he reminded me that I had voiced some doubts about how good Davinson Sanchez is.....fair point, I have to say he seems to get better with every game, even Barcelona are having a look at him now. There, that should put the mokkers on him for tomorrow, bet he scores an own goal and give away a penalty.

So the long trip north takes us to the beautiful north of Holland and a lunchtime beer with top bloke Kor who has sorted us out with tickets for what should be a sell out. The stadium is impressive and its a good atmosphere with the locals who are fully behind their team and having a good season.
We are back to full strength as this wont be easy and it proves to be a game of few decent chances and despite Bananna giving us some nervous moments, Davy Klaassen is the man on the spot who manages to squeeze the ball home following a great pass from sub Van de Beek. Younes was showing some nice touches and dribbling but has still yet to score a league goal despite twenty seven attempts this season. Heerenveen battled away but we managed to hold firm and pick up the three vital points. It was a great trip as we have seen three games in four days and won them all.
