This week we’re supporting Drowning Prevention Week.

As a swimming pool, we see every day how important it is for children and adults to feel confident in and around water. Learning to swim is a life skill, but understanding how to stay safe around water is just as important.

Whether you’re visiting a swimming pool, heading to the beach, enjoying open water, or simply spending time near rivers and lakes, taking a moment to think about water safety could save a life.

The Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK Water Safety Code is simple:

🛟 Stop and Think
🛟 Stay Together
🛟 Float
🛟 Call 999 in an emergency

This year’s campaign is helping educate young people with vital water safety skills ahead of the summer holidays, when more time is spent in and around water. Drowning is preventable and nobody should lose their life through a lack of water safety knowledge.

🎶 I’m swimming in the rain, just swimming in the rain… 🎶 ☔💦

Yesterday it was raincoats and puddles. Today it’s sunglasses and sunshine. Tomorrow? Who knows… it is Britain after all! 😄

One thing that doesn’t change is our amazing team. Whether it’s sunshine, showers, or all four seasons in one day, they’re here keeping the pools open and ready for you.

Unlike some outdoor pools, we don’t hide away when a cloud appears. June rain is still warm, the water’s still heated, and there’s something quite special about a swim while the rain falls around you ☀️☔🌊

So if you’ve been waiting for “perfect” weather, this is your reminder that swimming weather comes in all forms!

Book in for this weekend and come and enjoy whatever the British summer decides to throw at us. 💙

After an incredible 33 years, we have some bittersweet news to share 🫶

Our lovely Linda is stepping down from her role as Lesson Coordinator at the pools. Over the past three decades, she has helped shape the swimming journeys of countless children, supported generations of families, and worked alongside so many staff members. The stories, memories, challenges, achievements, and laughs along the way would be enough to fill a book! 🤣

The good news is that Linda isn't going far. She will be continuing as one of our swimming teachers, so she'll still be in the water doing what she loves most – teaching and inspiring children to swim 🏊

Everyone at the pools would like to thank Linda for her dedication, hard work, passion, and commitment over the last 33 years. Her contribution has been truly remarkable, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done.

One small request... please don't stop her in the street to ask about your child's breaststroke legs anymore! 😄

🚨 WATER POLO GALA – POOL UPDATES FOR THIS WEEKEND 🚨

Just a heads up that there will be some changes to our outdoor pool opening hours this weekend due to the annual Water Polo Gala 💦

📅 Saturday 30th May
Outdoor pools close to the public at 3pm

📅 Sunday 31st May
Outdoor pools open to the public from 12pm
(Indoor pool open as normal in the morning)
