Faversham Recreation Ground junior parkrun

G'day, mates! Weren't you speedy today! 70 runners bounded round the course, with 9 of ya finishing in under 9 minutes.

Altogether you've all run 16706km round the rec and if we added up all those kilometres we'd be all the way over in Brisbane, Australia! Awesome!

No worries if you're feeling tired now – you've earned a rest! See ya next week for the 250th Faversham junior parkrun. 🦘🇦🇺☀️

Did you know kangaroos can hop up to 72 km/h? Crikey!

Don't forget that we are CANCELLED this Sunday (7th) due to the fun fair being in the park.

If you would still like to do a parkrun on Sunday don't forget that we have other local junior events you could try including a new one at Sturry Road in Canterbury. You can use the same barcode and participating at another parkrun still counts towards your milestone wristbands.

What a morning! 81 juniors, loads of first‑timers, and 17 shiny PBs.

🎉 Happy 5th Birthday Faversham Rec Junior Parkrun 🥳

It was a wonderful morning at the Rec today. I didn't realise until I sat down to write the report, that it's our 5th Birthday. We started on 11th April 2021 as we were coming out of lockdown.

Some more facts:

- 918 children have run our course
- 286 volunteers have supported us
- in 5 years we have had an amazing 7,923 children cross the line

I've had a look back at that first run, 2 children who ran then, were running today, and one child was volunteering with us today. I think we have a great community which continues to grow.

Welcome and well done to the 7 new children trying out Junior parkrun for the first time today - Willow, Alba, Eli, Keaton, Mabel, Joshua and Lawrence!!! We hope to see you back again soon!

Violette was awarded her Marathon wristband for completing 21 events and Frank, who has been coming since we started years ago got a well deserved PB!
