π A Huge Milestone for Farnsfield Cricket Club π
We're delighted to announce the successful completion of our brand-new cricket training net facility following a Β£70,000 investment into grassroots cricket.
Completed in the first week of June, the new facility is already being used by our junior, senior, women's and girls' teams throughout the 2026 season.
The project has delivered:
π Two fully enclosed 33m practice bays
π One 27m open training bay
π Custom upgraded carpets and netting
π Batting curtains and protective skirting
π Secure pedestrian access gates
π A first-class training environment for current and future generations of cricketers
With over 300 members and more than 200 active players, Farnsfield Cricket Club continues to grow year after year, and these new facilities will help us support even more players, coaching sessions and opportunities to get involved in cricket.
A huge thank you to our funding partners for making this project possible:
π· Β£40,000 β Newark & Sherwood District Council through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, part of the UK Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund
π· Β£15,000 β Sport England, supported by The National Lottery
π· Β£10,000 β England and Wales Cricket Board
π· Β£3,000 β The Cricket Club Charity
Special thanks also to P&DG Planning Consultants for their support throughout the planning process, and to club volunteers Matthew McClune, William Rushby and James Bray for helping drive the project from concept through to completion.
We're always keen to welcome new members of all ages and abilities.
