FARNLEY TYAS BLOW MARSH UTD AWAY WITH STUNNING 7–1 HOME VICTORY
Farnley Tyas delivered an absolute masterclass on home turf tonight, putting on a dominant display of crown green bowling to dismantle Marsh Utd in a thrilling 7–1 team victory!
Match 1: S. Brown vs S. Oliver (21 – 6)
S. Brown set the standard for the night with a blistering performance in the opening fixture. Allowing S. Oliver virtually no room to maneuver, Brown rocketed into double figures early on and wrapped up a sensational 21–6 win in just 21 ends.
Match 2: J. Dyson vs S. Harper (21 – 12)
J. Dyson kept the momentum firmly with the home side in match two. Establishing a commanding lead midway through, Dyson effectively nullified every fightback attempt from S. Harper, scoring crucial singles and doubles to secure a comfortable 21–12 victory.
Match 3: Y. Sykes vs S. Scott (21 – 13)
Y. Sykes showed great composure in a well-paced battle against S. Scott. After pulling ahead from a tight opening exchanges, Sykes hit her stride late in the game, stringing together multi-point ends to cruise to a decisive 21–13 win.
Match 4: M. Hyde vs R. Byram (21 – 13)
M. Hyde put on a clinic in consistency against R. Byram. Charging out to a massive lead by the 23rd end, Hyde calmly halted Byram’s late surge to deliver another emphatic 21–13 scoreline for Farnley Tyas.
Match 5: S. Shaw vs B. Moseley (21 – 17)
The closest match of the evening saw S. Shaw pushed to the limit by a resilient B. Moseley. As Moseley closed the gap in the final stages, Shaw showed incredible nerve under pressure, scoring two vital points on the 28th end to seal a hard-fought 21–17 triumph.
Match 6: C. Carruthers vs S. Bentley (21 – 13)
C. Carruthers took control of the green early on against S. Bentley, piling on points in quick succession. Bentley fought hard to stay in contention, but Carruthers’ relentless length control ensured a solid 21–13 win.
Match 7: R. Walters vs L. Carter (21 – 12)
R. Walters set a fast pace against L. Carter, storming ahead to a 16–7 lead by end 16. Maintaining high accuracy down the stretch, Walters closed out the game in 24 ends to claim a superb 21–12 victory.
Match 8: K.Atkinson vs J.Hollingworth (7 - 21)
Marsh Utd managed to claim a late victory on the final card, where J. Hollingworth established an early lead against K. Atkinson and held the advantage through to a 21–7 result for the visitors.
With a final scoreline of 154–107 and a 7–1 match tally, it was a dominant Tuesday evening's work for the home side. Huge shoutout not just to the eight on the green, but also to our brilliant reserves—M. Brown, I. Morgan, A. Atkinson-Phillips, and B. Toon and J.Dickinson who was here in spirit supporting the squad every step of the way. Onward and upward for Farnley Tyas!
