🏏 Farndon CC Results – Saturday 30th May 🏏
A mixed afternoon for Farndon CC, with the 2nd XI producing an excellent all-round performance to secure victory, while the 1st XI were desperately unlucky not to capitalise on a good start at Chilwell.
🟢 1st XI
Farndon CC – 189 all out (44.1 overs)
Chilwell CC – 195/8 (34.2 overs)
Farndon posted a competitive total thanks to excellent contributions from Alex Youngman (61) and Skipper Dan Collington (59), with the pair providing the backbone of the innings.
The bowlers then pushed Chilwell all the way, with Charlie Thorpe producing a superb spell of 5-41 from 9 overs his first ever fifer and John Esam providing outstanding support with 2-23 from 8.4 overs. Despite reducing the hosts to eight wickets down, Chilwell managed to edge over the line with just two wickets remaining.
🟢 2nd XI
West Bridgford Legion CC – 178 all out (39.1 overs)
Farndon CC – 179/3 (34.3 overs)
A fantastic all- round display saw the 2nd XI claim a deserved 7-wicket victory.
⭐ Bowling Highlights
• David Adwick led the attack brilliantly with 4-34 from 6 overs
• Rory Adwick and Rhiannon Knowling-Davies both claimed a wicket while keeping things tight
• Jay Lam chipped in with 1-9 from 3.1 overs
⭐ Batting Highlights
• Rhiannon Knowling-Davies starred with 55 from 50 balls on her first Farndon outing of the season.
• Jacob Byland anchored the chase with an unbeaten 33
• Mark Everington finished the game in style with a quickfire 29 from 21 balls
• Jay Lam got Farndon off to a positive start with 28
👏 Congratulations to the 2nd XI on an excellent win, and hard luck to the 1st XI after a spirited performance but just "edged" out in the end.
